Beef Cubes with Potatoes in a Black Pepper Sauce
Ingredients
10-15 Beef Cubes
2 Potatoes
2 slices of Ginger
1/2 dried Onion
2 cloves of Garlic
1 Chilli
1 Onion
Marinade
1 teaspoon of Bean Paste
A teaspoon of Light Soy Sauce
A teaspoon of Dark Soy Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Sugar
1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
Five Spice Powder
1 teaspoon of Sesame Oil
Sauce
1/2 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
A teaspoon of Soy Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Maggi
A tablespoon of Honey
1/2 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
1. Marinate the beef cubes with the marinade for at least 20 minutes.
2. Peel the potatoes and cut them into large cubes, then put the potatoes in boiling water for 5 minutes. After cooking, wipe off the water and set aside. Cut the Ginger, Onion, Garlic and Chilli in the meantime.
3. Prepare a pot of hot oil. Add the potatoes and fry for 3 minutes. Take out the potatoes, turn the flame to high heat and add the potatoes back. Fry the potatoes again for another minute to crisp up the surface and until golden.
4. Prepare another pan on high heat and fry the beef cubes until medium. At the same time, mix the sauce and seasonings well for use.
5. Remove the beef cubes, then use the same pan to fry the onion, dried onion, ginger, garlic and chili, add back the beef cubes and pour the sauce over, turn off the heat and add the fried potatoes as well, give them a quick toss until everything is covered in the sauce!
