Tip for ya, I always open my warmer door all the way while I get fire going in firebox, so that the smoke doesnt stain up the handle on, and warmer door itself, that nice shiny handle will be black over time

Yes sir. Thanks for watching. I have owned quite a few smokers in the past. Brinkman trail master, weber kettle, Yoder, PK grill, etc. Love the all. some last longer than others lol
Another tip. Since you are using a reverse flow the good news is you don't need that long in there to shield anything. I have cooked a ton on my Shirley and never needed to shield anything. My old offsets needed it but not that Shirley.
