Beef Shami Kabab Recipe | How to Make Authentic Shami Kebabs at Home

Beef Shami kabab Recipe!
Ingredients:
Qeema 1 kg
Chana daal (split chickpeas) 300g before soaking. Soak for at least 1 hour
Salt 1 &1/2 tsp
chilli flakes 1 tsp
Red chilli 1 tsp
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Cumin 1 tbsp
Coriander 1 tbsp
Whole spices
Onion 2 medium
Water 2 cups
Garlic 7-8 cloves
Shan tandoori masala 1 tsp
Onion (finely chopped) 1
Green chilli (chopped) 4-5
Green coriander 3-4 tbsp
Egg 2
Oil for frying
Instructions:
- In a large pot, combine beef mince, split chickpeas (chana daal), salt, chilli flakes, red chilli, turmeric, cumin, coriander, whole spices, onion, garlic cloves and water.
- Cover the ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Cook on low to medium heat (about one hour) until the beef and chana dal are tender and most of the water has evaporated. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking. If necessary, add a bit more water to ensure everything is well-cooked.
- Add tandoori masala to enhance its flavour and completely dry out its water.
- Allow the cooked mixture to cool slightly.
- Transfer the mixture to a food processor and grind to a fine paste.
- Add Fresh Ingredients: (finely chopped onion, green chilli, green coriander & one egg) Mix well to combine evenly.
*The egg will act as a binding agent, helping the kebabs hold their shape during frying.
Take small portions of the mixture and shape them into round patties or oval shapes, according to your preference. Ensure they are compact and firm.
- In a frying pan, heat enough oil for shallow frying over medium heat.
- Dip the kababs into whisked egg & add into the hot oil.
- Fry until golden brown and crispy on both sides, flipping them gently to ensure even cooking.
- Once done, remove the kebabs and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Serve the hot Shami Kebabs with mint chutney, yogurt dip, or your favorite sauce.
*(Make 22-24 kababs from the above mixture)
