BEEF THAKKADI
Ingredients for the beef
1 kg beef with bones ( cut into chunks)
Chopped onion
Chopped tomatoes
Chopped green chili
Ginger and garlic paste
Curry leaves
Chili powder
Coriander powder
Turmeric powder
Garam masala powder ( optional)
Salt
Oil
Method:
In a pressure cooker heat oil and add onions and ginger and garlic paste and sauté for a minute and add fenugreek seeds, cummins seeds and cook until raw flavor goes and add tomatoes and curry leaves and sauté for 30 seconds and add the spices and salt.now add the beef and add enough water to cover the beef.cover the lid cook until the beef is tender.
For the thakkadi
3 cups roasted rice flour
1 scrapped coconut
Green chili finely chopped
Onions or shallots finely chopped
Curry leaves finely chopped
Salt
Method:
In a large bowl add the rice flour, shredded coconut,chopped onions, chopped green chili, chopped curry leaves and salt. Mix well and transfer the boiling beef gravy into a jug and add it to the rice flour mixture and knead it quickly. Now make dumplings for your choice and dip it slowly to the beef gravy while it is still boiling . Don't let the dumplings to stick together.while cooking gently turn the dumplings over . Don't use a spoon till it is totally cooked. Serve hot ...
