When you're inspecting your bees do it over the hive as they are falling onto the floor. You'd not want your queen falling off and missing the hive.

Excellent. Agreed it looks like it's time for a super to me. As the super has new undrawn foundation you could have put two on and still fed your syrup as they will use the sugar as energy to make the wax they need to draw out the frames.
