Don't over complicate it for yourself Danny. If you went in on Saturday you shouldn't really go in it on Sunday as well, especially as you opened it up twice on the Sunday just to add one more frame. You still had three or four untouched frames so no need to panic thinking they don't have enough space. You also mentioned maybe going back later to add more sugar syrup. Did you open the hive three times in one day?
Hi, I opened it on Saturday for as quickly as I needed to, probably about 15 mins and temperature out side was 14 degrees, yes I did open it back up on Sunday to put the brood box on as I thought they needed it and I did have to walk back to the garage to get another frame as at the time I was one short but that only took me a minute or so and did put the crown board back on when I went back, that was all only on the Sunday so that was just once, I did go back only quickly again on the Saturday to fill the sugar syrup up but yeah appreciate what your saying here about losing heat, gussing do the sugar syrup directly at the same time as inspections .? Appreciate advice from you guys, like I say I’m still only learning myself.👍
Probably worth keeping a notebook of what you've done and make a checklist to remind yourself of what you want to do next time you visit so you have everything to hand.
