Great job and great info. I just caught my first swarm with a swarm trap I built. Now I'm researching about getting them into a typical ten frame hive - Mike
Blake we love the bee vids,I guess I'm talking for most of us anyway. Myself I'm not into the other videos,I'm a bee keeper in the uk and watch your live feeds and always leave positive comments. I've 7 hives rocking at the moment, now here's a thing on treatment that I hadn't thought of regarding the vaporizer and oxalic acid. Little bits honey( joe may) treats once a month from spring right through to winter. Which I find interesting. It doesn't harm the brood, capped or uncapped eggs honey pollen or the workers and queen. Basically the hive will operate the same and the extracted honey will be 100% perfect for bottling. We started around the same time as Blake, also 4d honey and vino's farm. We are 2 season keepers and yes we've Made a ton of mistakes in the 1st year but we are doing much much better this year. Keep up the great work all you wonderful keepers of our lil ladies. We are their guardians and it is our duty to protect and feed them so they can pollinate our food.
I was going to ask about the amount of honey compared to the amount of bees also. Are you going into a season that will provide more pollen are you going to have to feed? Also where do your bees get water?
There are a good number of water containers on the farm. There is also a pond on the neighbors property that isn't farm from the hive. I may need to feed them, but for now I think (hope) they are ok.
