Beer Advice: Hollandia over Heineken in Australia 

Great video, mate. The bottom line is that imported European lager will always smash anything that’s brewed locally under licence. Using sugar or other similar adjuncts is not uncommon. Most Australian macro lagers have cane sugar in them. It increases the ABV but keeps the body light. Crown Lager is a notable exception, being an all malt lager. Anything brewer under the German purity law is obviously all malt too. Cheers!

In the USA, both are imported from Holland. In my thinking, I'd prefer Heineken, although I would have to do a blind taste challenge, to be sure.

As always, great video. We have a lot of great Aussie beers so I'll never understand buying an international beer brewed here under supervision.

Glucose syrup in Hollandia = added sugar. I don't like added sugar in beer and I don't know why they do it. Inexpensive Euro lagers like Oettinger have no sugar and taste great! Some English beers have added sugar, like Shepherd Neame, which is very disappointing. BUT - the comparison between the two beers is very good to watch. I will never purchase the Australian Heineken after watching this review so thank you, Boydo!

Hey mate, just came accross your channel. I like both beers and cant really tell the difference personally. We are over in Tauranga, New Zealand and actually Heineken 12 pack cans are only $24 at the everyday normal price (cheaper than the bottles). Hollandia 6 packs come down to $12 on special for a 6 pack every now and then. So Heineken cans are really cheap over this side of the ditch.
