This song makes my heart ache every time I hear it. It reminds me of my immortal beloved who I lost to colon cancer two months ago. He's gone forever now, but what I learned is that " Love is all that matters" and nothing else. I miss him so much......My love. 😭
OMG! An eternal and melancholic poet was Mr B. What an honour for the lady of his love to have received such treasured sentimental poems. LVB is a marvel of romanticism lyricism and musicianship.
+PP1969GR Absolutely right; this is a very fine movement that can be enjoyed on it's own however, it does form part of a complete concerto and so to be fully appreciated, one should also listen to it in context with the other two movements.
Despite it being a very well known and often played piece, it remains a beautiful piece of music to accompany Beethoven's deepest thoughts and feelings. I'm pleased you like it.
The beauty of Beethoven's music, so often drenched in emotion, frequently touches our inner feelings, made more intense by our knowledge of his personal struggles, not just with his deafness but the many ailments he suffered, compounded by his sense of loneliness. Thank you for comments.
Of course, but I was not necessarily praising the 2nd movement since I have known it all my life. I was praising what you created! 35 years ago, I loved this so much, I sang a vocalise to the melody (without words of course) at a family party. :) @@abips2011
@@enriquesanchez2001 Mea culpa; a very generous comment. I should like to have heard your accompaniment of which, I have little boubt, Beethoven himself would have accepted as a compliment to his creation. Once again, thank you for commenting; I'm pleased you enjoyed my humble effort.
+Melissa Holden visit this - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immortal_Beloved - The translation is not exactly the same as I used but nonetheless, it does give some explanation.
Someone . Please. I know Solti directed all of the music in this film. However, I cannot determine who the pianist was who performed the adagio movement in this concerto? I feel foolish, but I need to know and cannot discern . Anyone??? thank you. Vielen Dank et Merci Beaucoup!
+bravaLiz This track is wasn't taken from any film, the beautifully fine pianist performance here is Claudio Arrau. My apologies in the very long delay in replying, I hadn't checked the comments for awhile!
***** I too, have been far too busy to check messages. I am seeing comments from one year ago! hahaha... I DO know that I've seen this film 100 times, and Solti is given the credit for all of the symphonic pieces interjected within this film. I do believe ann-sophie Mutter played the violin during the Kreutzer scene, however, I saw no mention of Claudio in the film credits. Arrau is indeed among THE. BEST.
It is a constant question that adds to the enigma of Beethoven's deepest feelings. I find it both touching and romantic that Beethoven alone knew the true identity of his truelove, the one person that filled his heart with such tenderness and hope, whilst we can merely speculate. Thank you for commenting.
