A short “Piano for Elephants” improvised arrangement I made for Spy, Kanta, Namwan and Kat to play during their favorite afternoon snack of yams. Recorded in the mountains of Kanchanaburi, Thailand on a FEURICH 122 upright piano.
* I'm sorry but I don't have this arrangement written out as it's mainly improvised.

I like how one of them thought it was done and trumpeted before he played the final chord. Shows how perceptive and smart they are, detecting a finality in the music rather than just waiting for the pretty sounds to stop.

Elephants do have a phenomenal memory, but the fact that they may remember some things that happened to them a long time ago, doesn't mean they remember everything. Very fitting choice for this setting. The Pastoral was the first work of classical music I ever properly listened to, some 40+ years ago. Hearing excerpts being played to a group of elephants in the wild feels appropriate. They could trample you and the piano to smithereens but, no, they'd prefer to line up patiently and quietly as a dignified respectful audience.

I think the elephants on the left are clearly the more discerning concertgoers. The other two are clearly there for the "nuts and popcorn"! Mum appears to be telling them to keep quiet at around 4.45. Great trumpet applause at the end. Though one does wonder whether the Pastoral was an easy listening event for them and whether the 5th might have been more of a challenge? Paul may have had some of the 'nuts' thrown his way if he had tried the 5th.
