The pianist Rudolf Buchbinder plays the first Piano concerto composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, with the Radio France philharmonic orchestra conducted by Mikko Franck. Live recording from the concert of january 31th 2018 in the auditorium of Radio France, in Paris.

Wunderschöne Aufführung dieses perfekt komponierten Konzerts mit anmutigem doch gut artikuliertem Klang des Soloklaviers sowie gut balancierten Tönen des kompakten und perfekt trainierten Orchesters. Der zweite Satz klingt besonders schön und fast himmlisch. Der intelligente Maestro unterstützt den erfahrenen Solisten im majestätischen Tempo und mit sorgfältig kontrollierter Dynamik. Echt tiefempfunden!

Theodore C. Ley, SM, dma If the nobility of Beethoven's first movement is carried lyrically into the very difficult-to-achieve powerful joy of the third movement, Beethoven the man has been rendered present to an unusual degree. I think this was attained!

Elle a été écrit par Ludwig lui-même... C'est l'une des trois cadences qu'il a écrit pour le premier mouvement.

I miss the edgy, mischievous masculinity that Buchbinder exhibited in Beethoven's third. Maybe you should conduct as well, RB? But, of course, the bar is high as ever 😎

The recording, at last at the beginning is not perfect! The piano is weak, and the sounds are "grey", they are not shiny. Compare this recording to a Buchbinder concert that he gave in Moscow, in 2020. By the way, the Russian orchestra is better, than this one. In Moscow Buchbinder played without a conductor.

Honteux ce retard à l'entrée du piano. L'orchestre est parfait. Ce pianiste devrait être au chômage. Il veut diriger parce qu'il ne tient pas le tempo. Pathétique.

@@marie-christineboineau5470 1. Savoir combien et quelles pièces 2. Notez les pièces avec les heures (heures en bas) 3. Écrivez sous la forme hh:mm:ss ou mm:ss avec des espaces avant et après 4. Notez tout comme dans l'exemple. Amusez-vous! (Ne le faites que si vous aimez la pièce.)
