I can get close to her speed on the third movement, but she makes not nearly as many mistakes as I when I play it. She has executed the entire song as a master.

The only one that compares in my opinion is Glenn Gould, although his interpretation is wildly different.

i’m curious, what is your opinion and interpretation of the very end of the third movement (the scale down and last two notes)? when i was younger, i always thought it seemed out of place in an otherwise fantastic movement. as i got older, i definitely grew on me, but i’m still not sure i really understand it. i’m curious what your take is.

I’ve always felt the first movement was an acknowledgement to his going deaf but the third movement was a but on my way out. Here’s a big f you and good luck.
