Beethoven 32 Sonatas recording. Mosfilm Studio 0:00 - I. Allegro 7:21 - II. Scherzo. Allegretto vivace. 11:54 - III. Menuetto. Moderato e grazioso. 15:43 - IV. Presto con fuoco
Totally wonderful. I have played this piece for forty years and to hear it played with such wit, charm, and clarity - well it is just delightful. I have never heard it played better and clearly you love this piece. I am loving your cycle of these very special pieces. Thank you so much!
I totally disagree. This is just the notes played fast - no more. You must be an American (all Americans are shallow and seem obsessed with technique).
@@stephenarnold6359 Clearly from the international response here the entire planet is shallow and obsessed with technique - and you're the only one who can see through it all? Congratulations.
@@zed6980 I certainly wouldn't equate the youtube followers of VL with the entire planet, and I wouldn't claim to be the only one to have different standards, but from what I've seen over the past years, yes, I would say that Americans are fixated on the mechanical.
@@stephenarnold6359 perhaps replace "fixated" with "attuned to" technique and I agree. Listeners, well, I will speak for myself only. I love a crisp clear technique: it helps me hear structures and dimensions.
WOW what a ride with that last movement. "IV. Presto con fuoco" I felt like I was galoping the whole time riding the horse through the forest. Happy Mothers Day Val.
Beautiful! Watching you play the piano makes me so happy. When you smile while playing, I get to smile with you and feel the feelings together. When I listen to this Beethoven sonata, I can feel your warm heart. Thank you so much for uploading the video.
I turned 50 yrs old today while in Covid-19 quarantine with the world. I was was feeling blue ( staying in bed, sleeping the day away, hardly eating ) all week leading up to today, but after listening to the amazing Valentina Lisitsa play, I feel I can make it through this birthday. Now it's time to listen to another favorite that will help me through the day; the brilliant Mr. Chilly Gonzalez. The combination of the two is a 1, 2 slap in my face to wake the hell up.
That interpretation was an absolute chef d'oeuvre. The best I've ever hear and the most innovative recording of this sonata, and my favorite from all your Beethoven sonatas. Your new recordings are the most innovative recording of the 21th, and since Gould. Love you and thank you ✨💗
Thanks for showing us the beauty of Beethoven's music with your extraordinary virtuosity that is so natural and expressive!! You're an inspiration not only for the many of us who want to express a message through the piano, but for the entire world who can hear through your art the beauty that lies behind this fantastic music.
Her playing and her facial expressions makes me feel good. She looks so happy and puts everything except the kitchen sink into every piece. Beautiful ❤️ I’d be struggling making things harder than it should be. Valentina brings happiness and joy to the world. Love her
She makes it look like its as simple as pouring a glass of water! Like her hands just know before her brain even tells em...lol truly beautiful to watch her play...
A truly phenomenal performance. You bring this sonata alive in a way that no other performer ever has in my opinion.. a joy to listen to and to watch... Thankyou
0:06 - 1st mvt: Allegro 7:22 - 2nd mvt: Scherzo. Allegretto vicace. 11:54 - 3rd mvt: Menuetto. Moderato e grazioso. 15:42 - 4th mvt: Presto con fuoco I waited _three_ weeks for this and I am not disappointed. lovely Val! maybe we'll chat next time
Thank you for the music, Valentina. And I have to say I enjoyed your 3+ hours practising Warsaw Concerto and the Beethoven practise. Still on my 'bucket list' to see you live, so here's hoping, and I wish you and your family escape from today's big problem. Take care... 🤩🌹🌹🌹 Oh, that look up at about 8:50....brilliant!
What a superb performance of a delightful work, fantastic technique enjoined with a deep love and understanding . I am in absolute awe of your left hand, it was a joy to both see and hear. Of course, the joy just emanated throughout your playing. Thank you so much for this series and indeed all the other works you've shared. For me especially, they are a godsend because I'm confined to home due to age problems , even before the pandemic. Stay safe, best wishes from Sakuntala Basu, listening from India
Thank you SO MUCH! As someone who has (in my poor fashion) attempted op 31 #3 myself, and heard it played by many (including by Richter live in concert), to me your performance has everything. This sonata is very tricky. It shifts style, tone, pace, mood rapidly and often. It's by turns playful and deep, lilting and sharp. At the same time, it has a sweeping momentum. To me, you capture the variety and contrasts expertly while managing to weave it all together. I am in awe.
🇧🇷 Maravilhoso!!! No IV Presto con fuoco, sinto um humor leve, mas profundamente feliz. É como o amanhecer, correndo nas praias do Rio Negro (o maior afluente esquerdo do rio Amazonas). 🇺🇸 Marvelous!!!! In IV Presto con fuoco, I feel light but deeply happy mood. It is like dawn, running on the beaches of the Rio Negro (the largest left tributary of the Amazon River). P.S., Furthermore, the smile is marvelous to behold🌹
As always: BRAVISSIMO!!! And @ValentinaLisitsa I enjoyed your expression as much as your performance - it is like you are still thinking about something else while playing this with such ease. Fantastic!
Thank God for Beethoven, and for dear Miss. Lisitsa to tske notes on paper and create beautiful aural art. Thank you for my daily dose of musical blessing Miss. Lisitsa.
As always going higher of the ideal and sublime. Love greatly the appogiature at the begining. Valentina sei grande!! E puis tu est tres jolie!!
Thank you for sharing your amazing talent Valentina. I enjoy your pieces more than any other pianist. Your notes are so confident, crispy clear and flawless. Love from Turkey.
I am finally early! Thank you so much again for amazing music! Your Beethoven interpretation is such a high quality! After Beethoven, can you post more of Bach or Mozart pieces? I would love to hear Mozart's sonatas as well. They were my childhood pieces and I still love to play them!
You turn piano into orchestra effortlessly, from the horns and flutes in the second movement, to the violins and cellos in the fourth movement! Great, Beethoven would love! Omg I forgot to say the horns as well in the fourth movement!
