Varga: Mr. Stussy. Do you know what Lenin said about Beethoven’s Piano Sonata Number 23? Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov. Not the bloody warlus. He said, “I know nothing that is greater than the Appassionata, but I cannot listen too often, It affects one’s nerves, and makes one want to say kind, stupid things and stroke the heads of those who, living in such a foul hell, can create such beauty. Better to beat the person unmercifully over the head.” Oh boy...
A 250 años del nacimiento de un genio tan grande, Ludwig van Beethoven, esta sonata es una de las razones por las que lo venero tanto, Feliz 250 aniversario!
@@salemdunning5954if you watch the movie 3 of the movie adaption of berserk, the last part of this plays as femto is forcing himself on casca while guts is forced to watch
I enjoy this sonata immensely. The artist seems quite proficient, but... there is a hiss in the recording that masks the clarity of this performance. I wish it weren't there or I could figure a way to get rid of it. I don't think it's a vinyl hiss... perhaps my ears are going? I LOVE that you've recorded the entire piece! =D I'm probably being too persnickity.
Honestly it must be something emanating from the recording equipment, whatever they used. I actually got this recording off of Google Play, because it was one of my favorite renditions of it! I'm sorry about this hiss. If you really want I could try to edit out the hiss and send you an MP3 personally, it wouldn't be hard. I'm just concerned that the fidelity would suffer a bit because of it.
AnAmericanComposer I don't think there is a way to fix this problem besides rerecording. I also noticed it, this is likely the reason why some people disliked this video. Anyway, thanks for it.
Bernardo Sulzbach , AnAmericanComposer My guess is that this magnificent performance from a great interpreter of LvB. is from the mid 1960's not 1990's as stated and this could be the reason for the background noise. The dynamic range of the pianoforte is vast hence the name and I suspect a bugger to record without some compromises. Great post - enjoying it very much :)
AnAmericanComposer I think You're right, and Mr. McDonough in pointing out that this is a recording from the '60s explains a lot. I am quite grateful for the opportunity to hear this gifted artist's interpretation. So many want to present only certain movements. This is really "good stuff" as my son tells me. =)
The Sonata is beautiful and the artist has brought out the very best in this piece of music and as for a hiss I cannot hear it on the on the recording only the notes of the keys of the piano so crystal clear. I wonder if it is a cd recording. thks for the lovely music.
