Fun Fact: Dongmin was a step-charter for Pump It Up at the time, and this video is of him playing HIS OWN step routine for the song. Not only did he play masterfully, he created an absolutely iconic dance game chart that is still being enjoyed years later.
@@kclarke421 first time playing it your hips and your arms go numb and my sole has bruises but it gets better when you get used to it :/ (I don't exercise that much so my mom brings me to play those so I can exercise lmao)
I've always had a passing fascination for DDR, and rhythm games in general. The sheer speed and focus of the masters is astonishing. I could never reach that level.
At 1:45, he went Mach 1... his feet became a blur they say the power of his speed and dexterity weren't even at full strength as he was holding himself down using the bars. Truly an impressive feat 👏 😌
You know when sometimes you crush a spider but she had babies and they start running everywhere and you begin your plans to leave the house this man doesn't, he could kill everyone of them without missing one
I really miss this. I don’t see this kind of dance machine now a days and I’m really glad I happen to stumble upon this video. Thank you for reminding me of my fun childhood.😁
Trust me, sometimes on very rare occasions, you may see a random person go full on crack mode and go on the pump it up machine and start doing some D26 or something.
Pump it up machines are probably the most common step rhythm game left in most arcades tbh. All the old hordes of DDR Extreme cabinets have withered away or gone into private collections, Konami only licenses the newer DDR cabinets, and StepmaniaX is just barely starting to come out in barcades. Pump has just been the most consistently supplied over the years, never too much never too little if you actually bother to look in arcades.
That particular kid who's moving his legs is the protagonist looking at his idol and after that day he vowed to be the greatest DDR player in the world
Bro he dances like DDR is a woodwind and his legs are his fingers, so precise. Not to mention he has some musicianship to him, you can see he’s dancing with style and not just moving robotically
I realized something when watching PIU videos on RU-vid, there's two types of PIU videos. One is the players that go god mode on the machines and the other is the players goes god mode but with style like Smidget and both are so cool to watch.
This is actually the backstory for the kid mimicking the steps in the background. This is his origin…to become the greatest in the world. And his final enemy…will be this man
It’s actually not that hard. Most of his weight is on the bars (colloquially known as “bar raping”) and he only steps enough to set off the sensors. I’d be more impressed if he did the same song on Single; the chorus of the song is a 59575153513 pattern, and so the easiest way to do it is to “pivot” and essentially do a circular run, with your left foot on the center step and your right foot hitting the top right, top left, bottom left, bottom right, and then returning to facing the screen with bottom left and bottom right. Easier done than said.
As an ex piano tiles amateur, I know the feeling of going behond human limits. The incredibly fast moments, those are the moments you go into trans, your brain processes the information unconsciously. Props to Dongmin
You're right, youtube algorithm. I do want to watch an random 11 year old video of a Korean dude tearing ass on a DDR machine in a Thailand mall. How could I refuse?
It’s a reason most casual players rely one the bar as they learn doubles, tho 89% of the player base rely on it for even single challenge or max songs.
realizing rn that younger gen z + gen alpha probably never have seen one of these... especially during the pandemic too cuz there'd be no option for it. Truly a classic experience to just hit up the arcade and mess around on whatever machines they have
Its pretty obvious @Yol Riin Lask knew he made a mistake on getting mad like that so of course hes not gonna answer cuz hes to embarrassed Lmao..he'll prob delete his comment I mean who knows wut haters like him do these days when they realized their wrong
