You were so close when you said “I know you can hear me, I wasn’t trying to make it so you couldn’t, you’re being rude now, shut up.” A soliloquy is a term when a character is talking/ singing to himself loudly, yet no one can hear them. So it’s supposed to give people the feeling they can’t hear him. It’s technically a fourth wall break, but not really?
lol Yeah, a soliloquy is supposed to be an internal monologue that only the character and the audience hear but Beetlejuice loves his meta jokes and 4th wall breaks so of course he's ACTUALLY singing his soliloquy out loud! 😂

The “Dolly Levi - Matchmaker” card gag is a reference to the musical “Hello Dolly” , which follows the titular Dolly as a professional matchmaker. The first song follows her as she gives out her card to literally everyone who would listen (and everyone who won’t!) Doesn’t surprise me that she managed to stick one on Beetlejuice, she’s very persistent 😆
Oh a quick thing, all the show parts (besides the last one) were BJ’s understudy, and the last one was Alex (the normal guy who plays BJ in the show). Either way, they’re both super talented.

Loved this AyChristine! The next song is Ready, Set (Reprise) which is less than a minute long so I recommend doing it (the one by Rish is the best one) and the next song No Reason together. For the animatic on that second one there isn't a finished one with the BJ characters but MoonLightArt has one with their OCs that is kinda hilarious.

He... wasn't really "relating to her" or really "trying to save her" in the last one... She's a living person, and he needs a living person to say his name three times so he can cross into the mortal realm and escape his imprisonment on the other side- further, she's the only living person who can SEE him. Basically, he was trying to keep her from jumping for totally selfish reasons, and the entire song was just him trying to coerce her into doing the one thing he needed her for. Let's not romanticize Beetlejuice just because he's funny, people- he IS the villain in this show.

The card was a reference to the musical Hello, Dolly. It’s about a matchmaker trying to find a match for this wealthy store owner and her two day stay in New York City. It’s actually my favorite musical and it doesn’t get the hype is deserves. I don’t think there are any animatics of the songs but nevertheless it’s still a pretty good musical. (Except for one song that’s super sexist but the time period it’s set in makes the somewhat acceptable but not totally acceptable that it should dismissed)

I don't know if anyone else has said this but once you're done reacting to the Beetlejuice musical, you should definitely check out Six the Musical! It's a short musical (like 9 songs) about Henry the 8ths wives. I definitely recommend, if you do start it, watching the Ex-Wives animatic by oliviamarlyce
