She starts the song towards the end of the musical. That is kinda funny.

Basic context for this song, Lydia Deetz is getting married to Beetlejuice, a ghost who needs to get married in order to become alive again. It's not creepy or weird, the show literally explains it as being like a greencard thing. However, considering how bad Beetlejuice has made life for Lydia's family and death for the Maitlands (the ghosts who live in Lydia's attic - sweet guys) by this point in the show, they plan to marry off Lydia so that BJ becomes alive, then have Lydia kill him so that his soul will return to the netherworld and they never have to deal with him again. As for Lolita... that's a story about a old guy who becomes romantically and sexually obsessed with a young girl called Lolita whom he ends up marrying. It's incredibly screwed up.

I’m going to die, I was just listening to beetle juice musical for the first time, I was listening to “on the roof”. And then this notification appeared

“Till death do us part” I like that. It’s a joke playing on the fact that technically once one out of the couple dies they are no longer married, and so when Lydia kills BJ like 5 minutes after they get married, they’re no longer married, and BJ took his leave for the Netherworld, so yes, they quite literally parted after death

You know, there's playlists where songs are IN THE ORDER. And I would LOVE you to try to follow it. Because I love your reactions but DAMN, it's really infuriating when you do something not in the order, because then you have to skip songs/videos and you know what's gonna happen and ... Story (Going Off Of The Movie): Basically Lydia (the girl who is 15-16) who is befriends ghosts, but they are slowly decaying, so she needs to free Beetlejuice (the guy who is a dead bio exorcist with weird powers who lies a lot) to help them. The only way to free BJ for good tho, is for him to get married (preferably to a mortal), so Lydia is forced to marry this stanky man to save her friends, so that her ghost friends and get healed, and BJ can be defeated (kinda double dead) once and for all! Context, its sort of the same as the movie, where marrying Lydia will resurrect beetlejuice. However the difference is immediately after he comes back to life Lydia pushes him off the roof (not for the first time funnily enough), which immediately sends him to the netherworld and out of their hair. (Also i think they did this to trick beetlejuice to stop a exorcism ???) ATTN: disregard earlier mentioned method of death, she stabs him with one of Delia's ugly ass statues

Christine you might want to wait a few months to do this as a series because the fandom is very toxic right now because there’s basically a war between the shippers of Beetlejuice the Lydia and the people who don’t like it because the people don’t like it send the shippers death threats and suicide bait them, at least on Tumblr, and the shippers just want to be left alone. It's a book from the point of view of a pedophile who justifies having an inappropriate relationship with his girlfriends(?) twelve year old daughter by repeating that she was "seductive" and "wanted it" - when in reality, that was the pedophiles way of thinking effecting what actually happened. He kidnapped her and assaulted her, and she had wanted him to stop. When the man in this video says. "Have you guys seen Lolita? This is JUST LIKE THAT, but fine (as in "whatever", not as in "this ones okay though")." That is Lydia's dad making another shot at what happens in the real world, similar to the line "I can't believe some cultures think this kind of thing's alright".

An example of a Lolita is a high school student who tries to attract men in their twenties" Japanese tropes include a lot of it, usually with very adorable young girls who have odd quirks about them that attract older men (not always OLD older, but still, adult-aged), and often the girls either are underage or appear to be underage. So basically that guy was saying "This is like lolita, except it's the young girl being turned on by the old guy instead and somehow the world is okay with this but not with the old guy being turned on by the young girl." Thus why "It's like lolita, but this is fine."

Okay so, Lolita is a book about pretty much pedophilia. There’s this guy who’s attracted to an underaged girl, I think. My dad read it, and we have great conversations, so it came up. The whole book is a metaphor to Britain’s taking advantage of the American colonies before independence I think? I could be remembering what he told me a bit wrong. XD
