You two are so very loved by me! So love the kitchen and that lovely blue color! So fresh and bright! Thank you both for caring for properties and showing how thankful we should be to God for what He’s given us. 💙💛
Do you ever think about how you guys are made for each other? The balance is extraordinary, so different, yet the important things mesh. You both are blessed.
"Since a great number of you seem to hate me, we brought Kevin" 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I laughed way too hard at that. Also, people, please, if you don't just love Laine and Kevin, please keep that to yourself. We love them!!! Even though I've watched the video of your lovely home before, I still watched this one, and love it so very much. Laines version of maximalist is fantastic and gorgeous.... My version just looks cluttered lol.
Always glad to hear your stories about houses. It's easy for people to complain, but the choices you made for Scotty are exactly right. There are times when wood is better painted, even if that wasn't the norm for the period and style. Not all homes are mansions with mahogany, and base grade pine (with repairs!) was not meant for shellac. I've been with y'all for a long time, and I can't get enough of your gorgeous master suite! Fireplace in a bathroom with a claw-foot tub? Definite luxury. I'm sure you dream about it after those long weeks working on Pearl. When my Mother-in-law had to move from the farm where her family had lived for over 100 years, I picked up all kinds of interesting items that would have been left behind due to the huge volume of 'stuff'. One was a plant stand made by my MIL's uncle in High School wood shop in the 1940s. Looking at your art, I'm reminded of the Art Nouveau covers of my grandmother's piano sheet music from the very early 1900s (she would play at the church socials, etc.) I hope someday to frame a few. :)
“SCOTTY” is beautiful! You are a dynamite duo and you are to be congratulated for your diligence and applied talents. I so enjoy spending time with you and seeing what ever you are sharing and I’m anxious to see Pearl in all her glory!! 😊. God’s many blessings I pray for the both of you. ♥️ From Tennessee.
This is a work of art. I love the home and all the historic details you were able to add. The antiques and decor looks lovely as well. So beautifully done. Your bright and cheerful attitudes are so refreshing. I share your love of historic homes and love to learn about details when you tour homes.
OMG... what an amazing turn around! The fireplaces, chandelier, and that stair rail are all stunning, and I love the kitchen sink and claw foot tub! Love all those older style features. It's unreal how much structural work you had to do and never gave up. Strong visions do come to fruition! You two are amazing at what you do. I always dreamed of finding a partner to do projects around the house to create something special, but it never happened for me. Treasure what you have in your amazing creative partnership! I really enjoy your personalities. 💞Thank you for sharing your journey with us... demonstrating what can be if only we put in the effort and hard work.
After hearing your tremendous recap about the purchase, preservation, and renovation of Scottie (your private residence) inside and out, all I can say is: If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands! 👏 👏 Now, please tell me where I can send the boxes and crates so that you can begin packing up all of your artwork, accessories, and furniture; and air freight them to me. That house is gorgeous, peaceful, and serene, and has an impecable flow! The painted white floors make those rooms look so much larger and spacious! I would have never thought of doing that. Job well done, L&K! I wouldn't have expected anything less. Y'all are so experienced and totally awesome! Wow! I am looking forward to seeing what you will do with that fantastic attic space.
As a British person I love your projects. We love older homes in the UK. To see people from the USA also loving older homes is such a delight. It always seems to be new is best from your neck of the woods so it is really refreshing. Your older homes are very different from ours and very beautiful. Love the porches. Your home is very charming and I love your kitchen.
It is very nice to see the past through renovations.......my favorite viewing, though, are the shows just like this one where you show your love and passion when insuring the beauty of the past is not forgotten......thank you..... 😊 💜
Grew up seeing houses like these in older parts of southern towns and villages and always loved them. Beautiful work, and nice to be able to live vicariously through your adventures.
I love the white paint. I remember having a dispute here in the comments about painting wood. Sometimes it makes sense, and you have shown this beautiful example. Thanks for sharing your home with us.
Scotty is a vision of loveliness thanks to the Berry super powers! I’m looking forward to the big reveal next week but I just love the before and after videos. ❤️
Laine and Kevin, I enjoy your channel very, very much, please show us more of the restoration ( less talking) please don’t take offense. You two are doing an amazing job🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
You guys tired? I don’t believe it. You love what you do and have so much enthusiasm for saving historic houses, making them into lovely homes, maybe the body is weak but the spirit is strong. The mind is full of great ideas continually. Thank you for sharing your babies(homes) with us before and after and everything in between.
We so love you both❤❤ Laine, those people are just jealous of your wisdom and beauty! What gorgeousness and beauty you two create with everything you touch!!
All your hard work paid off, your home is just so cozy and beautiful! It truly was a labor of love! May you both always be happy and blessed in your new-old home....Good job guys! 👍
I do too love the color scheme of this house! All the blues and whites, and my favorite shades of blue! And yes, marine paint is intended to be very durable.
Fabulous restoration!!! Love that master bedroom & bathroom! And the pocket doors, decor and the rest. Watching and sharing ur best content & looking forward to all of your future projects!
Absolutely stunning reconstruction to save shall a beautiful home. The objects and decor inside the home are as amazing as the space you created. It must be so gratifying to have a partner who shares your visions and to work together to achieve the ultimate end. OMGoodness that chandelier. Love your videos.
What an incredible job you both did! You two have great vision snd style! Thank you for all of your hard work at the preservation and restoration of these wonderful old homes!
Looking at it now and seeing it before what a transformation!!! So glad you do all you two do, these homes you save are so much better than any new home today!!! Bless you both!!! Looking forward to your kitchen and seeing the finish of pearl!!!!!
Laine and Kevin, you guys are our happy place. We get so excited when your latest videos appear on our feed. You popped up during a sad time for us and made it bearable by your chit chat, home tours and especially your renovations videos. Knowing the time and muscle and mental it takes you are so appreciated for bringing us along. I'm having trouble locating plumbing parts( specifically a 5 in drain replacement for a farmhouse sink, and wonder where you get parts like that?
This is my favorite video! I love that you found your dream home and made it your own! It is beautifully designed and grand BUT homey too! The execution was flawless! Thank you for sharing your magic! B~}
I watched the other video, and I'm so glad that you're going to do the upstairs. My upstairs is a warren of sloped celings like that and I love it. Yours will be gorgeous, just like the rest of the house! And now I'm interested in seeing your old 1933 Colonial since my house is of the same era.
You two do amazing work. You would never know what terrible shape these houses are when you start. Good luck with Perl; I can't wait to see the finished result and I bet the new owner is also looking forward to the completion.
I enjoyed the Conway (homestead) review, but I have to say even though the porch was cluttered at Pearl the exterior paint looked beautiful. Her entrance is so pleasant.❤😊
I love you guy's so much.Your eye for beauty, love for history, and respect for all these stunning architectural monuments.Keep up the good work and thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing you knowledge with us.😗😻👏👏💑
Your work is always so lovely. Love the high ceilings, fireplaces, chandelier, windows, outside, really everything. I really liked the bathroom. So functional, yet so homey. You could almost live in that room exclusively. All I can say is wow to everything you've done. It will be so exciting to see what you do to the attic.
We had a timeline/a plan. We were so cute. We all do that, people are so funny that way. I love how Pearl has been resuscitated and is now so stunning. History saved! Your vision for these forgotten Ladies is so heartwarming. I'm still amazed at the amount of hard work you two put into these projects. I'd have to have a massage therapist on retainer to follow me around all day! Love you two so much and sending warm hugs, hot coffee (and a diet coke), and don't forget the dog hair! Trisha
I love it. I followed along as have created your magic. I really just a person who sits quietly and in awe . I'm just speaking up now because I wanted to tell you how much I love the painted floors. Growing up in rural Texas in the 50s I have passed through many old farmhouses. Most of them had painted floors.
You all did a spectacular job restoring Scotty. I love it! And you have such cool stuff furnishing it. ( I especially like that plank seat bench in your dining room- reminds me of the side chairs made in Baltimore in the 1820s). Well done!!!
Hey, I joined your channel a couple months ago, and have watched many of your vids now. Just wanted to say the last 2 are my faves! As a renovator of 7+ homes, I love watching the two of you reminiscing about the projects, the good bad and ugly parts. Both homes were beautifully recreated. Breathe, and hang in there on this one, you're almost there!
