Hi Rachel, I read this too Masters and doctoral students can get 3 years if their studies was more than 16 months and excluded regularly scheduled breaks You must stop working after studies and can only work if you have applied for PGWP. You've always taught us on your channel to make good research! 😁
Hi Rachel, can you please make a video about the inflation and the problems in and about the health sector. Thank you so much, your videos are a great help, bless you
I am watching your videos ever since I started considering studying in Canada and you are so helpful. I hope you will make a video regarding Programs with Co-Op and all the pros and cons. Thank You so much! God Bless!
IRCC just extended HK citizens 3-yr OWP's from "5-yr" recent graduates of post-secondary studies (2-yr diploma, associate degree, Bachelor or PhD) to "10-yr" recent graduates. It doesn't matter if you are a graduate in Canada or overseas. Application deadline has been pushed out by 2 years; now 7th Feb 2025. Applicants must have HK SAR or BNO passport.
Hii dear thank you for ur informative videos ! I have a question please if you could answer it ? Example I started study in May intake but I wanted to change the program and its starts on sep ! What will be my status from may to sep ? And if I’ll be allowed to work while waiting for sep program . Thank youuuuu❤
Technically, you’re deferring your program and your Day 1 starts in September 😊 and you can’t work until after your first day… Check this link: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/publications-manuals/operational-bulletins-manuals/temporary-residents/study-permits/assessing-conditions.html#deferred 💕
Hi ,thanks for yours videos, they have helped me a lot, but I have two questions: -Is there a big difference between getting a diploma or getting a degree respecting getting a job? -If you get a diploma, can you get a masters later? I would be very thankful if you could answer me, thanks 😊
You can apply for pgwp even if you’ve worked more than 20 hours during regular study sessions. Just you will not be eligible for interim work authorization so you will need to wait until you receive your work permit. Also, once you received the confirmation of graduation, you are not eligible to work at all until after you apply for pgwp. Something to need to keep in mind.
I'm... Not sure what your process is like but. I just graduated myself, and I applied for the PGWP the moment I got my diploma. While you are waiting, you are provided with a WP-EXT letter to serve as an interim "permit" to allow you to work while you wait for a decision on your application.
@@AflatChord before you receive the confirmation of graduation (final transcript with graduated on it, or completion letter) : can work up to 20 hours After receiving the confirmation of graduation and before applying a work permit : cannot work at all After applying for a work permit : can work without restriction of hours
Hey, I loved your video and it helped me understand the application process. After receiving my PGWP I will have to apply for TRV extension as it is valid only until 30th sept, however I might me visiting family in that month so is it possible to apply for TRV outside of Canada? Are there any complications or risks involved? Thank you
For example, if you want to take medical lab tech, the program will require you to have chemistry, biology, physics from your O levels or in grade 11 ot 12
@@daydreamer619 I see.. thanx man for replying..now hear this.. if a program requirement is at least 50% in English in O levels can you just study English in O levels and get offer letter and visa? Or is it gonna be tough to get visa in this case because you only studied/passed one subject in O levels? (I'm only asking this to understand the scenerio here)
@@rbn1111 yes, you’re right about the english.. you don’t need chem, bio, or physics in that program.. you can always see the requirements from the website.. and after receiving your LOA(letter of Acceptance) from your chosen school, you can now proceed with your study permit application.. 😊
Thanks for the info. I have a question. Can an international student who is going for a 1+1 study plan (program) , work full time during the break between the studies?
Thank you so much for your efforts, Can you answer please: Does studying 2 years master program in biology at university of Regina give a PGWP ? Thank you in advance..
There’s no work-hour limitation when working on-campus as long as you meet the ff requirements found here: www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/study-canada/work/work-on-campus.html
Hi Rachel! I have a question, I could easily google but idk why I wanted to hear it from u lol. The 20 hr work limit for IS are for "off-campus" work but does it also include the work (if ever you'll get one) in School/Campus? And lastly, for example if your SP expires on March 1, 2024 but you get to apply in April 28, 2024 -- is that okay? Since no PGWP decision yet but SP already expires. Thanks a lot!
You should be receiving a 2 or 3 yrs PGWP.. your program is a fast track.. it’s in ircc’s website.. attach a letter of explanation about your fast tracked program with your Grad letter and TOR when you apply for your PGWP..
After graduation, I was able to get an admin assistant role (NOC 1241) However, with the upcoming to the NOC levels, I’m not entirely sure if that would still fall under the NOC B level 😊 but I hope that answers your question!
Ate im already here in vancouver and hoping to see you. Been a fan for too long🥺💕. I just want to ask my course is 2 years but I evaluate if some of the subjects in the Ph is accredited. So it is accredited and 1 year I can complete my course. It is still 3 yrs pgwp or just 1 year? I am afraid to complete it for 1 year. That is why i get 2 year course to have 3 yrs pgwp.
Hi! I recently completed my studies on July 21, 2022. I'm interested in applying for the Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), but I have a question regarding the eligibility criteria. According to the PGWP application website, the program requires a minimum of 8 months of full-time study in Canada. However, my class started on January 3, 2023, and ended on July 21, 2003, which is less than eight months, but I completed both 1st semester and second semester. I am a compressed program. Program will still qualify for the PGWP. I wanted to confirm this because I am planning to apply for the PGWP soon. Thank you for your assistance.
Hi Ms Rachel, I will be completing my program in 8 days from now. May I know which forms and need for applying PGWP and to extend my OWP. Yes currently Teer 3 and will planning na isabay ko si OWP. Thank you so much!
Hi ! What we Need to do if the international student is only high School Graduate in alberta, do she Need to apply for pgwp with in 180 days before graduation date?
How can i Apply for a visa as International Student if im originally from Philippines but Currently Residing in Hong Kong and is a Permanent Resident of Hong Kong? Thanks Rachel!
I intend to apply for a certificate course and it is stated in the course duration " 16 months minimum and 3 years maximum" how many years work permit do I get after graduation?
Hi Rdancel! I am currently a full time student in BCIT but it seems I cannot get any work if I stay this way. My School schedule is 8am until 5:30pm. Can I lessen my subjects? That way I can work while being student.
hi, if the school does offer a PGWP, does the program you are applying to matter ? I’m applying to fanshawe college ( graduate certificate) and I want to know if I’m eligible for PGWP after finishing my studies. ❤
hello, paano po ba e count ang 20hours per week? do we have to start po ba sa sunday as first day? or any day na nagstart ka ng shift mo? salamat po. na confused po kasi ako.
Hi Rachel. Would like to ask if you have an idea how many years ( PGWP ) to be given if to take 2 programs wherein each program's duration is 8 months? Thanks.
Hello, I am about to apply for my PGWP for my spouse and kids is there a particular job that I have to work on while on PGWP I am presently working 20 hours a week now, can I remain on this job, or they require you to work in a field that you study for I did an Associate of Arts Degree.
Hi today I have applied for my work permit and before studies I worked 20 hours per week. Should I start working 40hours or 20’hours or I have to wait till they said they started processing , I only got receipt. Of submission.
Hi Rachel! As always, this is a great and informative video👍🏻 I would like to ask the difference between PGWP and LMIA? Thank you very much! More power to your channel👍🏻
Can I apply for the PGWP even if I still haven't found a skilled job? Would that time be wasted or I should just wait until I have a job to maximize my Canadian experience?
Hi Ms. I hope you will notice this. In the event that I will go home by the time my study is over (emergency purposes) Is it a good idea to wait for my program completion documents and apply it in the Philippines? Will it be too risky? Tyia. God bless
Do u have a video regarding pathway to PR after post grad work permit. I am graduating this April but have no clue which pathway to take after I get my PGWP. They say, LMIA or PNP.. i’m clueless
Hello my son is studying in a school that is not offering a PGWP since it's a private institution. What will be the possible way for him not to be sent home after graduation. Thank you
He may have to transfer to a PGWP-eligible program at another DLI - while there’s still time. If you need help with this, you can send me an email at rrdancel@canxvisa.com But, exactly what Day Dreamer said, thanks for the assist btw 😊🫡
Hi Rachel, I have applied for my PGWP online today ( still with valid study permit). Can I resume to work the day after my submitting my application? thank you.
Yes, you can work full-time after submitting your PGWP application…as long as you met these other requirements from IRCC’s website: www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1181#
Hey hey hey Yasir! You can switch schools at any time, but be sure to inform IRC see once you’ve locked it in with the new school. It won’t be a violation on your PGWP application as long as it meets PGWP eligibility requirements. 😊
Hi , do you have vlog for colleges in Quebec outside of downtown Montreal, I believe schools outside of Montreal is way less expensive as compared to other community colleges in Canada. TIA
I haven’t really looked into Quebec as much as I would like to because the rules there are quite trickier and more stringent. But it is some thing I’m hoping to explore later in the future. 😊🥰
Is this for the PGWP application. Proof of that wasn’t required as part of my application. Although if an audit comes your way, you will be asked to provide evidence of the hours you worked per week :)
Hello mam I have chosen my course delivery option online synchronous which means all my course will be online for the first semester So my question is that will i be considered to be a full time student during that period? , will it affect my post graduate work permit and while applying for pr? Please provide me your insights Thanks!!
hello and good day!"! i have a big doubt! hope you can help me... im thinking in studying a course in a PGWP DLI college but duration is only 20 months!! do you know if i can get the 3 pgwp with this 20 months pgwp program?? or they will give me 20 months??? thanks!
Hi Dancel, thank you very much for all your vidoes. Really helpful. Please how can i get in contact with you pls? I need some assistance in securing a place to stay this jan 2023 for my UBC program starting in jan 2023
If I can complete my 2 year program in 1 and half years...i can start apply for pgwp and i can get 3 and half years of pgwp...since after completing program i can work for as many hours...am i right?... please correct me if I'm wrong...also clear my doubt...how many days it will take to get my pgwp after i applied?
If your school is in the list, you should be able to get three years work permit. However, it still depends on the situation. You can't work until you apply the work permit, then gov will send a letter to give you the right to work. Basically, the work permit takes more than three months now.
First, the max you can get for a PGWP is 3 years only. And the PGWP length will depend on the actually length of your program, NOT the time it took you to complete it. So refer to my accelerated studies timestamp on the video. After you submit your PGWP application, you can start working full-time or as many hours as you like. PGWP application processing times varies, but you can work while waiting.
don't do that at all. That's the easiest way to sabotage yourself. As soon as you get the transcript, stop working right away until you apply for the PGWP.
@@Mido._.0110 yeah. It takes months to get it approved and they recognize that so once you apply, you can start working. Only because you’ll be on an implied status.
Hi, what about those studentS who changed their course on arrival in canada?Does they will face any difficulty in getting PGWP? I came to know they wont get it...
@@rrdancel one of the youtuber shared case of a student who got admission in sep intake but when he arrived he changed the school and course for coming jan intake during this time he was doing nothing when he completed his study and was applying for PGWP so Visa officer asked why u changed the course and were u doing during this time..He didnt satisfied the VO so he was not given PGWP .
Can we work more than 20hours per week over the internet for a company in my home country being a student in Canada? If the company does not mind as it is online and part time. Please help answering this. 😊😊
I think the most recent update from IRCC is gonna be exciting for you! 😜💕 international students can now work full-time between Nov 15 to Dec 31, 2022!
If you haven’t submitted your PGWP application and you’ve already completed your studies, you have to stop working. More info on your question found here: www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=1472&top=15
Ideally, yes! But aim to look at 2 years or more programs to maximize the PGWP length. 😊 Anything below 6 months is not PGWP-eligible and you’re not getting the most bang for your buck if you only take an 8-month or 1-year program (from experience hehe)
What if during my studies I didn't work? and now I am looking for one. And I only did one program.. Is it possible to get a PR invite even if the PGWP is 1 year only? kase dba kelanga pasok sa NOC eh kaso wala ako nagwork during classes.
Hello po, ano pong sagot dito? Kase yung partner ko na sa Student, di ren sya nag part time. And otw na kame to apply for PGWP, hinde po ba maaapektuhan yung PGWP application? Hinde po ba sya hihingian ng pay stub even though hindi sya employed during studies nya po?
Hello my school dont have pgwp and my intake is march 2023 it is possible to transfer school when i arrive in canada ? I want to transfer to the school have pgwp can you help me 🙏 what are the requirements? Thankyou so much hoping for your reply Godbless ❤️
Hello, I have applied for my pgwp shortly upon end of my courses (end of may) and received confirmation to start working (PGWP-ext) until a certain date.. i still haven’t received my permit and when i call, they just say they are really backlogged… am i still allowed in canada under implied status?
i think you will be able to remain in Canada until a decision is made on your pgwp. I applied in May and got my pgwp last month. Hope you get yours soon
Hi. Do i need to submit an explanation letter that my program is accelerated? I quite worried na ma overlook nila ang info na yun na stated sa completion letter ko😢
Yes, you should. Have a screenshots of your program description from your college’s website and include the link as well. Make it clear and straight to the point.
Hi Jan Mei, yes to what Day Dreamer said (btw, thank you as always for jumping in to help) - letter of explanation is always recommended because this is your chance to clear or air out any concerns that the visa officer may have about your application. The visa officer should grant you a PG to BP length based on the program length and not the time you completed said program 😊
Hello ms rachel, may ask lang sana ako if I’m still studying tapos may ng offer ng LMIA sa aking okay lang ba tanggapin ko offer tapos aral parin ako.? Pero working visa naba status mam? Mam Rachel salamat sa sagot.
Hi dear, won’t it be possible to work at that job on your PGWP? Since a PGWP is a type of open work permit and doesn’t require your employer to sponsor you to work in Canada after grad?
Hello, I would like to share my case with you. I studied one semester at BCIT in Aircraft Maintenance. Is a very hard program and is full time as well.
Just want to clarify lang po kapag po ba mag aapply for PGWP kailangan or isa sa mga requirements is dapat may pay stub si Student? Kase yung SP po na partner ko, plan nya po na hinde mag part time para focus sya sa school nya po at maging okay result. Thanks in advance po
Hi there, I just want to know what is the legal status in Canada if applied for PGWP? I mean what documents we can show as a proof of legal status in Canada in this situation?
