Excellent, in my view, this is all about unraveling the story of how we humans evolved very early on in our quest for understanding, of deciphering our ways of connecting with the divine. It's a continuum, which I suppose will have to be taken up again as a modern understanding in the future built on an increasingly solid past. Thank you so much!

If God never changes, and you claim Jesus Christ is God(although the Bible text reads: God and his Christ), why is Jesus so different from Yahweh? Christians claim Yahweh was too violent and Jesus Christ was not, obviously that is a change.

Basically: discovered a likely mistake in Egypt chronology, realigned it with the rest of history, and realized the archeological record was not very thin regarding Israel, but actually quite rich, simply because evidence of Israel was always there, but unidentified as them for chronological reasons. If his work isn't fully recognized, I think it's at least good to be aware of it when you touch this topic. Blessings

Did you mean "sacrifice"? Did El decide to eat Baal? Sacrifice means to make sacred before eating. We sacrifice now by saying grace before meals. To kill in order to give to the gods is an offering. The world of the dead was the spirit world of the gods, which is why you killed what you offered to a god. So why would El need to kill Baal, if he is already in the spirit world?

Another lecturer was saying there is evidence Moloch meant the sacrifice, often the moloch was to YHWH, apparently the God wanted the first born of peoples possessions, (goats, sheep, children) after the eight day of their birth. (but not all groups did this)...what did the God want these sacrifices for? Did He eat them? Take them up to the Spirit World to serve Him or generally be useful? Is there an explanation for this?

The old testament seems to know a lot about a religion it wants nothing to do with. Notice how it only concerns itself with negating very specific things. The writers of the old testament spanned many religions and societies, and yet baal and asherah seem to be mentioned over much larger gods.

Small point but theologically important (to some): One does not worship Mary - instead she is venerated! This difference is invisible to most peoples today and so would be impossible to 'see' in the archaeological record.
