Good one, but really want to know... How u frame your art works...must especially oil on canvas artworks. And, is it professional enough to remount oil on canvas flat on a board before framing .
Hello Joseph, I don't frame most of my paintings stretched on stretcher bars. But, usually, oil paintings that are stretched on stretcher bars (as we paint them) are then fitted into a frame. If you're painting on a canvas board then this is the same process. I think it's unnecessary to remount the canvas on a board as you can risk ripping the canvas on hard edges as it't tightened. I don't have much experience in this as I am not a framer. You can do a search on how to prepare a canvas for framing. If your canvas is rolled, without stretcher bars I would buy the appropriate size of stretcher bars at an art shop and stretch it and then take it to a frame shop for framing. Hope this helps. -Sanel
