Before you teach sight words…  

Thankfully, in Australia, we are finally heading the other way. I am a Literacy Intervention Teacher, focusing on the Big 6 of Literacy ( oral language, phonics, phonemic awareness, fluency vocabulary and comprehension) The Government is now moving Literacy education into whole school phonics programs, away from the scatter gun mixed approaches that are occurring currently. I am so excited that finally, I won't be banging my head against a brick wall!
