Great review Bryan. Played this last night, thinking I'd complete this game in a couple of sittings... but stuck all the way through, and absolutely cried my eyes out by the end. If game experiences like Journey, What Remains of Edith Finch or Ghost Giant appeal to you, then I'd recommend giving this a go! I'm sure we will speak about this game on GAMESCAST LIVE later today. :)

Emotional experiences is what VR is about for me, shooters are dime a dozen, I’m looking forward to more creative stories

I pre ordered this. It looks like the kind of game/experience I would enjoy. Good to have a break sometimes from all the intenseness of the other games.

Seeing as I played this on PC, I really wanted to see what other people saw about it. I really wish I was there to give you that hug after that emotional whiplash, it hits hard in this game!

This game destroyed me. I assumed it was going to try and tug at heartstrings, but holy hell was I not prepared. YMMV, but something really broke me on this one. This, by the way, is a positive comment.

I'm definitely going to check this out at some point. Shame that it didn't resonate with you quite as well as it could have, but I'm glad it still packed a bit of an emotional punch.

If this ever goes on sale for like 5 bucks I'll pick it up. But right now I'm broke af with RE4 remake, Switchback, and my racing rig with GT7. I can't afford more games atm. Lol

You can play a free demo this game on a computer and it uses a webcam to track your blinking. I played it a long time ago and I'm not sure I want to pay to play it again in PSVR2, but it is a little heartbreaking for the vast library of cross-platform games we had on PSVR1 but this is the game we got a port of instead of Superhot VR, Doom VFR, or even a single flight sim. Brilliant video (again). 💯

Just finished a first playthrough of this and it was an excellent story based experience imho. Looks like there maybe some issues with the trophies popping but I'm sure that will get a patch. Really looking forward to the next time I get to go through this one and can definitely see getting at least another good couple of plays with it personally. These are the kinds of experiences I don't mind shelling out a little money for knowing that I'm getting a live-in narrative that is comparable to the price of a ticket to the box office. Thanks for the heads up on this, thrilled to see you out from behind the Sony induced 8-ball on pre-launch review woes.

For the price point it's a decent "experience". Also found myself crying, it was a first for VR for me for some reason :D It kind of gave me To The Moon vibes actually.

Another great review Bryan. Its a game I have had an interest in with the blinking. Good to know there isn't a blinking speed-run through. I will pick it up at some point.

I loved this game in flatscreen, I can only imagine how good it is in VR. Fantastic use of the eye tracking technology!

Just finished it I thought it was great and I thought it was beautiful.

I'd like to see more interactive movies like this in VR as the cinematic potential of the medium has been clear to see since The Invisible Hours. And the emotional punch of the story is just more proof-if any were needed-that media other than videogames can also be amplified by being inside 360 degrees. Holding this production against the standards of a conventional game would be a disservice to its strengths. Buy this for the immersive narrative and you won't be disappointed(you may be devastated, though).

Played this game on steam. Made me contemplate my own life in a positive way so I will definitely get this whenever I can afford a ps5 and psvr.

Great review. Has me intrigued ... but also sets my expectations fairly low to avoid disappointment. Won't be rushing to play this before several more highly anticipated titles, but definitely one I'll pick up one day, when I fancy a change of pace.

Another great review, thanks Bryan, this title caught my interest straight away, but I was also hesitant as to whether it would deliver, it seems in some ways it does and other it falls short, sounds like it’s still worth a punt for the price tag, I held off buying it with the ps+ discount in the hope you would have a review out for a more informed purchase, glad to say you didn’t disappoint!

Had a very bad time with this one due to some major bugs. When I was about 70% through the game, screen went to black and stayed there. I ended up having to quit then load it back up again. When I went to continue the game had only saved my progress up to the first chapter. I had to replay the entire game again. And this happened 3 more times. Thankfully rach subsequent time didn't make me restart from yhe beginning. After the first big reset, the eye tracking stopped working properly. I had to blink and hold it for a few seconds in order to register a blink. It felt like I was cheating. I got to experience all the extra stuff cause I could essentially refrain from blinking at all, but the game didn't feel right after that. I wasn't experiencing a story anymore, I was just paying a game. Even with all that, the ending was really good, and I wish I hadn't played at launch. I can only imagine how my experience would have been without the bugs. I urge everyone to refrain from playing till a few patches are rolled out. Game is good, but I really didn't like 90% of the game due to these bugs.

First Day 1 Review of the PSVR2 generation. Congrats Bryan! EDIT: I might bite the bullet on this one considering it's already relatively cheap!

Grabbed this last night, looking forward to a run through. It sounds like they could have added a button to press if you need to blink without wanting to advance the story.

Thanks for the Review Bryan. Based on what you have said I will probably wait for a deep discount even lower than your suggested price. Not anything negative towards the Deva nd I wish them well. Just not a game I feel I want to get on PSVR2.

Most of these games will be out in a wishlist and grabbed next Christmas etc when they have huge discounts. Like most I have more than enough games to get through and the fact I'm sweaty Platinum trophy hunters makes them last even longer 🤣

What happens if you manage to not blink for a really long time? Will it force you to move forwards eventually? Will the scene just stop or start repeating itself?

Hearing some reports of the latest PS5 firmware also updating/fixing the PSVR2 blurryness. Have you noticed anything?

The PC version wrecked me, so I'm glad to hear this release packs the same emotional punch.

Interesting that you found it difficult to emotionally bond with a video game character in 90 minutes, when it's commonplace to do so in movies that are not much longer.

Are there any plans to add future content such as £5 for another life story or patches to include new decisions? £15 is a little steep for a 90 minute game imo so I wont be buying it outside of a sale

Anyone know if and when they're releasing extra sense controllers for sale? Google search says they're not going to and that we have to buy another headset just to get new controller. Gonna be a lot of pissed of people if that's the case, and im actually thinking of returning the headset if it's true

14 bucks for 90 minutes of "playtime", sounds like a pretty bad deal.

Man...VR can be hard on the eyes, in that it can be very mildly irritating. How frustrating would this be, if you had an itchy eye, or you just as Brian did, blink accidently. Its a gimmick that might be fun once, but I wont buy another game with this "Blink and miss it" mechanic. Also a ton of people have eye issues, dry eye etc. WTF about them?
