Very informative video. Awesome. I have one VCA piece that I got after my mom passed away 10 years ago. It's a single motif lapis and yellow gold Alhambra necklace that she got from my dad for Christmas when I was a kid. I have no idea how much he paid for it. However, it's probably going to be the only VCA piece I'll ever own. I'm happy to have it, even under sad circumstances, and wear it quite often, even to work. It had no packaging, COA, or any paperwork whatsoever. I understand it's not made any more, and probably worth a lot more than what dad paid for it. When I pass away, it's going to my best friend's granddaughter, since I have no heirs. (Jan Griffiths).
Wow! What a beautiful heirloom piece! It’s so wonderful you get to enjoy it then pass it on to someone who will cherish it. I hope some of my pieces will be loved by my daughters one day. Currently they like more trendy edgy pieces as they are teens.
This is a FANTASTIC video. I just ordered the sweet Alhambra mother of pearl with white gold earrings. I'm a bit nervous about how fragile the stone is and the earrings are especially compared with my Cartier pieces but I can't resist. Love how feminine and beautiful vca is. Omg! So excited you stopped by! I’ve been watching you for years! 🥰 I have been super rough on my mop and i think there has been some shrinkage but I only assume that as I did the “shake test”. Just looking at it, it still looks amazing and I would not hesitate to buy again. I think it would be a lot easier to keep earrings in pristine shape! Excited for you! Great video! Another benefit of having an SA is they can easily waive repair fees. I just lengthened my holiday pendant after owning for more than 6 mos.

I just checked my necklace for air gaps and the rattle. Gaps are almost non existent, and no rattle. I've never had it tightened, and I don't know if mom ever did either. I guess my piece is good, at least for now. I'll check it from time to time. hanks for this info. I never knew this. (Jan Griffiths).
I think sometimes with use the prongs can get loosened. Doesn’t necessarily mean the motif has shrunk. But it’s a good way to check as a tighter fit means it will stay securely in there longer.
Great information. Very helpful since there are differences between the store and online. Takes a lot of homework for these expensive items. I wonder if their authentication fee is that high to deter people from purchasing preowned? I wouldn’t be surprised if that was the case. That’s pretty steep. That’s the price of a single Alhambra or what’re the single stone in the setting is called. I’m not as familiar with VCA but am learning :)
Thank you so much for such a detailed review. Before driving a few hours my neighbor state in order to visit a VCA boutique store, it’s definitely very helpful to me with research homework done before any purchase. With that being said, I think I’ll prefer onyx if purchased online…
Yes, onyx is definitely one of the safer ones to purchase online. The only thing is you won’t be able to try on the different length models to decide if you want the size reduced. Which one are you looking to get? I would love to try on different ones but unfortunately no store near me.
@@kklvoescc I’ll probably buy a pair of earrings from online for which I don’t have to worry about the size fitting issue. I learnt from some online RU-vid videos that the onyx is porous so that it cannot contact with water? Is it true? I really don’t like taking off-on my earrings very often, except for outfit match.

I don’t own malachite but I have heard it is quite delicate. I’ve read that it can not contact water at all. Also, I hear it can break and most people use it as an occasional piece. But it’s stunning and if your heart is set on it, maybe try the pendant first since there is only 1 motif to worry about and then decide if you can handle it. You would definitely have to take it off in the shower or gym. Hope this helps! 💚💚💚💚
It does move to the bottom of the wrist but its up top a lot of times too. And sometimes it will “stick” to a spot (I guess from the oils of your skin) and stay there for a while. The juc will roll over it but they don’t ever really get tangled. It actually gets more tangled up with my 5 motif than my bangles which is why I usually don’t wear them together. Personally the shrinkage is not visible to the naked eye so I would still buy it. However, I would definitely be more careful and avoid water whenever possible. Hope this helps! 🥰🥰🥰
Hello! Help! I bought my Alhambra on fifth avenue. Like a couple days ago. The SA never provided me the certificate of authentication. They also forgot to extend the 2 inches. - What should I do? Do you know if they are still adding the 2 inches for free. Also I would rather not go back to that specific boutique since it’s extremely tiny, I would rather go to the Hudson Yards location. Do you think they would provide me the certificate of authentication if I went to a different boutique and add the 2 inches to the necklace
So sorry I only just saw this!!! I think you need to go to the original boutique for the certificate. But extension you could probably get done anywhere. They do still add inches free of charge within a 3 month period. However I hear some SAs will still do it for you complimentary even past that time period. I hope you were able to get everything resolved! 🥰🥰🥰

They say it shrinks. I haven’t been careful with my sweet alhambra in mop and I do think it has shrunk a tiny bit although its hard to say for sure. That said, I don’t think a little water hurts it but you definitely don’t want to keep it in constant contact (ie swimming, showering, doing dishes etc). Personally I am too rough on my jewelry so I don’t think I would get a bigger piece like the 5 motif in mop. Hope this helps! 🤍🤍🤍
