I have the mother of Pearl sweet Alhambra bracelet and knowing that the MOP is finicky, I still never take it off. The stone has shrunk a bit but it’s honestly not noticeable to the average eye unless you put it up to your eyeballs. Please note that VCA does replace stones if you want to do so and it’s actually not too costly to replace MOP. Also note I have had it on my wrist for about 4 years . Quality is impeccable 👍🏽☺️
About how much is it to replace the MOP stone in a sweet necklace if needed? I love the MOP but have strayed away from buying it due to it being a more fragile stone.
Thanks!!! Been trying to figure out for 2 months which one I was going to get my girlfriend for Christmas and after watching this video I have decided to buy vintage. Great review!
I have the same sweet alhambra in MOP and I’m so surprised to hear that it’s supposed to be delicate because I absolutely never take it off 😂 I shower, sleep and spray perfume on it and it’s still in perfect condition (I’ve owned it for about a year). It could be because it is a smaller piece so maybe any imperfections aren’t noticeable but I don’t baby it at all. It’s the perfect complimentary piece as you mentioned which is why I never take it off. Great review comparing the two ☺️
Hi Lou! Love both necklaces. My mum owns the mother of pearl vintage Alhambra and wears it daily. She was told by her SA that van cleef can replace the stones if they become damaged or worn over time for a cost. Seeing as the mother of Pearl is such a delicate stone, it makes it more wearable daily ❤️❤️☺️
Recommend the vintage size! Have two pendants and love them so much :) +1 for malachite, since you already have a daily piece. I have the Guilloche and malachite and don't regret it. But tbh I do not wear the malachite as much as I would like. I know stone replacement isn't that much money so I should just enjoy the piece!
The rhodonite with the diamond was originally a holiday release for 2021. It looked really pretty! Also, the malachite stone will be really beautiful :)
Now that I've seen the vintage one on several people, I find it too visible and flashy (almost tacky. Especially the MOP). I have two in the sweet size (MOP and carnelian) and it is so dainty. You still see the pendant but you don't see it from super far away. Another important thing for me is the fact that the pendant moves freely because it is not attached to the chain. This makes it so much easier to wear. If I had the vintage size, I would go crazy making sure the pendant stays in the middle (I have a Messika move uno necklace and I hate that about the necklace^^) I wish they had the sweet size in onyx or malachite!
His aside of the length difference and size of pendant . Is the chain same thickness ? Aside of that which one would you personally recommend? I’m currently waiting for Sweet Alhambra but debating if I should keep it or exchange for Vintage
I wonder why MOP can't be in the water considering pearls come from water :(. I love that one but want one that can never be taken off and worn in the shower.
Malachite would look so good on you (being blond and having a fair complexion). I can't wait for you to have it 😂 However, the pink stone with a diamond would probably look a bit dull!
Hi Lou, great video. I was wondering about the sweet vs the vintage. I have onyx necklace & I love it. I love that it doesn't move on chain & didn't know that the sweet moves as we have no VCA here in Dublin, Ireland.
Love the Vintage Alhambra! Mine is in Rose gold and Gray MOP - I reviewed it on my channel if anyone is interested in that colorway 💜 it's like a tiny piece of rainbow 🌈
Thank you for this video! I have been looking for a video like this for awhile. I am leaning towards the Onyx but I don't know if it is worth the price jump :/
