Just passing by to let you know that I have been doing this routine por the past 2 months, after years of no exercise at all... Im still doing the easy modifications you show, but it has gotten better every week. This, with zumba classes and a clean diet I have lost 20lbs so far... I still have a long way to go, but Im in love with calisthenics, so Thank youuuu!!!🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Yes we need more women in calisthenics! I use to feel like I was the only one but it's been so nice to connect with other women into the same thing as me :-)
Dont usually comment but this was a video I could actually do and feel stronger afterward. Some “beginner” videos start with 20 pull ups I’m like ummmmm
Great challenge! Please mention when you change from one exercise to another. Cannot always keep an eye on the phone so it is hard to tell when u stop doing 1 exercise and move on to another. Even if there is just a beep between exercises to alert us. Thank you 🥰♥️
priyanka chodankar yea! Totally agree...often they say it is for beginners and when you try almost all exercises are very difficult of for people already very fit 😒
I started 3 weeks ago. 5 days a week. This is changing my life Lucy! I could honestly spend 45 minutes doing cardio at the gym and then hit the weights for another hour straight and still not feel the effects I get off of a 21 minute video. Loving it! Thank you! I'm taking pictures of progress and I will share when I reach my goal weight. 👍
This is the first workout I've ever felt is very challenging, yet doable! I'm doing most of the easier versions you show, but it will only get better from here. The best part is that it's only 20 minutes, so there's really no excuses to skip a session. Thank you so much, Lucy!
Thank you so much for this! I have to admit that, at first, I was a little intimidated by this routine, and for a couple of months, I actually just did the warm-up on repeat until I built up some stamina, flexibility and strength (and confidence). I hadn't done any kind of consistent exercise for years, and at 29yrs, 160 cm, and 85 kg, I was wildly out of shape (still am but finally doing something about it!). I was really unhappy with my level of fitness and the way I looked, and even if I wanted to get moving and exercising, I was finding a lot of the videos out there extremely intimidating. Your channel, and particularly this video, has been one of the best ones when it comes to just starting out. Today was the first time I ran through this entire video, following along with you, and finding it surprisingly less difficult than I was expecting, but still getting a really good workout for someone at my level. I've been at this for two and a half months now, changing my lifestyle completely by making sure I get enough sleep, eating well, and exercising. In that time I've lost 6 kg and feel so much better than I have in a very long time; I actually can't remember the last time I was under 80 kg. A lot of that is due to how inspiring you are and how inspiring and motivating your own weight-loss journey is. So I just really wanted to thank you for everything you are doing and to let you know that you are part of changing my life for the better. (Also, if I might make a suggestion? Would it be at all possible to insert a timer or a bell or some kind of countdown for the different reps? I found that when I had to look away from the video, I lost track of time and ended up rushing from one exercise to the next. Just a suggestion, though!)
I literally cried because of how difficult I found this BEGINNER workout 😭 but I guess that just shows how much I need to be doing it! Just need to stick with it 🙏
This is an old comment but in case other people are here thinking this now. If you’re a beginner, this is supposed to feel really hard! I know it feels like we should be able to jump into beginner level things easily but that’s not the case. The point is to push your body at whatever level you’re at so that you can start to see increases in strength etc. If it was easy, you’d never improve! But if you go for it, you’ll be surprised at how quickly you gain strength. I’m so proud of you for being here at all. Showing up is the second hardest part. The hardest part is showing up again even though you already know how hard it is. You’ve got this.
Gonna update this comment every other day to acc get myself motivated. Starting weight: 144 BMI: 25.8 Day 1: super tired and out of breath. Maybe pushed myself too hard. Also panicked when I couldn't find a surface to do the elevated pushups on. Couldn't do side planks. Day 2: - Day 3: Still tiring. Sore from my cardio exercises yesterday. Even then, it was a little easier than the first day. Can only do the side planks if I have a knee down and forearm down. Weight: 143.2 BMI: 25.7
This is like a perfect beginner workout. I'm completely unfit and normally have to make a few breaks within a workout but this time I've been able to make it till the very end but it was still demanding
Quarantine got me really sloppy and I've been looking for some motivation to move my body. I'm really fascinated by calisthenics but also scared cause I'm no where near that strong or flexible or determined. But I just did this workout and I will do it again tomorrow. So thank you so much!!!
I guess I'm going to use this to hold myself accountable. I'm really proud that I did this workout on day 2! Feeling sore around the shoulder area and definitely finding it challenging.
Didn't update, but I have been doing this workout every day since my first comment. Feeling proud. I think in the next days I'm going to try to add maybe another beginner workout that you posted. Thanks for the inspiration
just remember to add some extra protein to your diet maybe close to the workouts.. and you have to rest more when you exercise more. the exercise breaks up the muslce fiber and it only builds back in proper rest periods.
You introduced me to Calisthenics and I think it is SO COOL. Gonna start your beginner workouts. I have zero strength as of now and an obese but I hope I progress gradually. Thank you for this channel!
I absolutely love your channel.!!! It's empowering and yet gentle enough to help you believe in yourself and motivated to keep going.! 3 days in & I feel it in my body.! Loving your format w the videos & authentic vibe.'
Oh wow, just did this for the first time. That's quite a workout! Thanks for making this public. If my legs still work tomorrow I am going to do it all again :)
It looks so effortless, it’s hard to believe, you ever struggled to do any of these exercises 🙈 thank you so much for your channel - my goal is to complete one full push up from the floor💪
Hola soy de México! Cuando ví tu vídeo de transformación me inspiraste muchísimo, sobre todo porque ahora sé que no necesito ir a un gimnasio. Gracias, me das muchas ideas
Just discovered your channel and I love it ! I have knee problems and I have to do exercises to strengthen my muscles. I have four basic exercises to do, but they get so boring after a while, yet doing your workout is fun and easy to follow. Also your other videos with more difficult but cool moves (calisthenics skills) have given me a goal to work towards. Thank you very much 😘
I've been wanting to start exercising for such a long time. This video got me get rid of my excuses. Thanks a lot for the great effort you've put in it!
much to my surprise, this workout was harder than i thought it would be. i did it 5 times this past week and i feel so much stronger than the first time i completed it. thanks lucy!
I liked the workout and plan to do it everyday from today. My biggest challenge and problem was trying to make sure my wrists don't hurt during the push ups and the second exercise. May I please have advise on how to avoid hurting wrists during the first and second exercise? Thanks in advance.😃
Ive been doing it for a month and she's mentioned i think in one of her other vids that it just slowly goes away 😅 i found just doing the easier versions for a couple weeks defo helped (dips are the worst 🤧) but it without a doubt stops hurting as much after a while - i really hope this comment helps, you can do it!! 👍👍❤️
I have carpal tunnel syndrome and my wrists hurt because of that. I curl my fingers a bit so my hand is claw shape. That allows more space for the nerves and they’re not squeezed. Helps a lot with pain!
Wrist bands/wraps. One of my wrists always hurts with workouts as I must have done something to it years ago, and those wraps help a lot. No pain at all.
Hi, I really enjoyed this workout, but if you could add a timer or something like that to the last round that would be great, I'm not good at keeping track of time and kept doing the sections for too long😅
Awesome workout regime recently watched your Weightloss transformation...I am 82kg suffering from PCOD and need to be 46kg for healthy body...pls share tips and thanks for the video
Suddenly got the desire to check out calisthenics a couple days ago, found you yesterday, did this video for the first time today. What a great workout! I've done some simple yoga, but still consider myself a beginner. At age 56, I need to start building strength. I look forward to continuing to see where it might take me. Thanks for the videos!
Great video! Please keep posting videos like this. Also, if you could add a timer as sometimes I can’t look at the screen and you are on the next move. Loved it though and this may be my new weekly exercise. 🙌
Yayy, third time doing this workout now in a week and a half~! Can't wait to get stronger :). Next time I'll try to follow the live one too! Thank you so much !
Good workout thanks for sharing :) Maybe recheck shoulders and hand positioning for dips at 4:20, you've to roll your shoulders outwards with hands parallel on bench so they don't pop up when you go down.
I love this workout! I have been doing it for several weeks now and I am obsessed at the simplicity yet the effort you need to complete it. Thank you so much Lucy!
This is the 5th time I do this wonderful workout...and I am starting to try the variation to make it more difficult! Thanks, I feel better and my stomach starts to flatten and I feel more energetic! 🙏🏻
Watching someone do it stops my inner conversations. I focus on what they do and learn from them. This strengthens my willpower, especially when it comes to doing things.Thank you.
Just a little update to say thank you. Nearly a year into my life style change and have lost a solid 6s loss! Didn’t exercise for 2 months but decided today that no more excuses and have started with this again. Time to stay motivated 🙏🏻
I'm so glad I came across your channel.!! Your methods of improvising each exercise is what I needed.!! I've been exercising from other channels, I must say I'm sticking with your workouts.!!
Hi Lucy, 2 nights ago I watched your video about your journey and it has very much inspired me and filled me with a sense of excitement as I embark on this new journey. Today I completed my first workout with your “Beginners Calisthenics Workout” video and it was great! Your instruction is comprehensive, and easy to follow. I also appreciate that your workouts uploaded so far seem to involve little to no equipment- Very convenient for working from home!! I will definitely be continuing to follow your workouts. Thank-you for your videos so far, and for sharing your journey with us. Many thanks- Namaste. 🙏🏼☺️🌸
Such an amazing workout, I love it, it's super challenging but at the same time u don't feel like shit when u'r done with it, it makes u feel strong and really good, I highly recommend it 🖤🖤🖤
I really enjoy this Workout :) The only thing is that sometimes it is hard to follow, as there is no timer or anything that let's you know when to move on to the next exercise. Could you maybe do this in your next Workout? It'd be very helpful. Thanks a lot for all your videos, I really appreciate them! 😍😊
just did this first work out. Great but, could you please put a beep of some kind of noise to signify when you are changing movements as it's hard to keep your eye on the screen all the time. thank you.
This is the one! If you’re looking for a real beginner at-home workout without equipment this is the one. I could only through the warmup because I’m recovering from surgery but this helped, I felt like I did something even still. Cant wait to be able to do the whole thing.
I love that this is actually beginner friendly! I also like how we progressed into the workout with each set. By the last set, I had already decided my progression or regration, and I felt like I was accomplishing each exercise. Thank you!
Lucy! I love the pace of the workout that you present to us as beginners who are also learning the postures of each exercises. Looking forward to watching more workout routines. Thanks 💪🏼
Thank you so much! Normally 'beginner workouts' are so hard for me to do, but I'm actually able to do all these exercises with the easier modifications you said during the video🥰
Simple yet challenging! I've been avoiding push ups and dips and this workout made me do them two days in a row 💪 I'll do this till I'm comfortable to do 10 reps of push ups and dips in one round 🏋🏻♀️ wish me strength 💁🏻♀️
Use these time stamps after completing the first two sets. The third set has no explanations and is difficult to follow without watching the screen. Keep in mind that the plank in the last set is a regular plank.
Did this workout this morning. Didn't manage to get everything done or exact as I'm a large lady but throughly enjoyed it. Hoping the more times i do it the better I will get. Thank you so much for sharing. You are such a motivational inspiration. You da best!!!
A great Saturday morning workout for me! Thank you Lucy! Just a small suggestion of maybe adding a buzzer when the 30 seconds is over? I had to keep looking at my mobile phone to see if you had changed exercises yet.. lol. Thanks again!
Such a great beginner's workout! I learned about calisthenics yesterday and I'm so grateful to start off with a workout that's actually for a beginner. It me. Blessings!
Thank you for the full workout follow along from the previous video. I used to do only one circuit because well 😅 now I should be able to do 3 cuz I have a partner!
Super great! I do most of these as a daily routine as part of army pt, but it was still a challenge at the speed you were going at. Also appreciated that you took a break with us during the video
stopping by to say i’ve been doing this workout once a week in combo w some pilates and super beginners kickboxing and insane ab workout that i can only get thru about half way (never workout out before doing this regimen) for about 2.5 months, and i can finally hit my knees on the ground during lunges, and i can do leg raises (i could cry, i could barely go down 12 inches at first, and how i can bring them all the way down save for an inch - still using my hands under my butt tho haha) and i can just feel how instrumental this workout was to my progress!!!! now i just have to work on not being completely breathless by the end 🥹🥹 also, i dont have a bench, but i do have 3 and 5 lb weights so i’m just doing skullcrushers on the floor instead of dips….def not the same, but oh well 😂😂
Thank you @Lucy Lismore a very surprisingly great beginner workout that is doable, works up a good sweat and challenges the body!! You have a new subscriber😊
Looking around for new exercises to incorporate in my routine. Excited to try you out! Adding a timer so we can see the countdown would be extremely helpful! Please!
Great video, this one does so much in only 25 mins - thanks Lucy! I'm relatively new to your channel and a complete noob to calisthenics, and am finding your style great for a beginner with just the right amount of instruction and dialogue 😀 love the tips for making it more/less challenging too. So grateful for your channel, thanks for helping me get more exercise into my week! 😄 ps one of your other follow along workout videos has beeps when changing exercises, which is super helpful, really missed that in this one!
Sooooo excited for your videos Lucy! I am at the very beginning of my weight loss journey- would like to lose 35kg’s. I’m going to use your videos as my baseline, woo! x
💛 Thankyou for this! Perfect workout for anyone getting back into shape! Especially great - each position can be increased or decreased in difficulty - meaning i will be doing this for a little longer! ( And: a biggest thankyou for not chatting all the way through like some definitely well - meaning instructors unnervingly - for me at least - do 😊💛👍)
Omg I finally found you!!! This is what I want, calisthenics for women Thanks a lot! Subscribing straight away, please do more of these on strength and speed. I don't care about my looks but I want to workout to be healthier, stronger and faster. I hope this works, been following calisthenics for guys but I think I'm too weak for that or it just doesn't work for me, not sure why. Anyway, how are you all coping? I wish everyone the best. It's still controlled where I'm from so our recreational activities suffer because most of us have no room to workout in the house. Hoping for the best, have a great day everyone. xo
Thank you for this! I'm struggling a lot just trying to even do the easier modifications of the exercises, but hopefully I'll get be able to actually complete it after a while.
OMG….years ago I was about 20 pounds lighter, and these were exactly the exercises I used to do!!!! I don’t know why I stopped 😢. But now, I will add this back into my routine. ❤
