‘Why’ is exactly what I heard before changing my eating lifestyle. Also 9 months here. Carnivore is a lifetime so no hurry with anything. Enjoy the journey of discovery. Great chat. 👏🇦🇺
I'm 4 days in to easing into the transition, and I've gotta say: I simply don't understand the concerns about feeling limited in what we can eat. There are literally SO many combinations of foods we can eat, I get excited thinking about all the lunches and dinners I'm going to make. Last night I had steak, bacon, and eggs... tonight I'm having a little slice of leftover steak, leftover bacon, and smoked sausage. I've also gotta admit: I LOVE the freedom of being able to eat all the 'naughty' foods we've been conditioned to believe were unhealthy, bad for us, embarassing to eat. You're telling me I can eat a teaspoon of butter atop my ribeye? F-yeah! It's like I was born to be carnivore! 🥩🧈
There are so many beginner videos out there but it always bears repeating and everyone has a slightly different angle on it. Sounds like a winning strategy to me! I'm glad you mentioned spices because I make a hellagood Greek lamb burger with feta cheese inside. My husband does not enjoy lamb so I get them all to myself! Great video!
Thank you for the motivation to continue. The first week was easy, but got difficult after day 12 with very low blood sugar for 5 days, but it righted itself, 😀 then cramps, lethargy, nausea and dizziness 🥴 as my body began healing. But the results were there from day 4. Weight loss of only half a kilo a week, but went down 2 dress sizes in 6 weeks. I have a list of health improvements and unexpected cures. But by day 65, I couldn't face meat, so I had seafood. An Olive. A Strawberry, a coffee and some goat's milk & cheese, which made the transition bearable. It's a process. Not an easy one, especially at 77, but I've given myself 77 days to get it right. I realise now it's better to organise yourself into it. I just went cold turkey. Just got up one day in March and couldn't eat anything. I felt like I had been poisoned. Somehow I found cnvr the next day. Now I'm seeing the wisdom of living one day at a time as I may never have another strawberry, or coffee, but I did today to feel ok. I wish i knew about this 20 years ago. ❤
Wow! Great going 😃 and I love that you've built in flexibility as you feel you need it. Having a coffee and a strawberry isn't the end of the world. Glad you're feeling better! Good luck!
@@homesteadingwithPJ Thank you. Day 72 today and I've settled into a compromise with myself to keep functioning and balanced. Probably like 95% animal products and 5% plant. Whatever works! And my 77 day plan is on track. 💓
I'm such a fan of yours and used you as one my inspirations to change up my life's game plan. You're straight forward, you're informative, and I can relate to you completely. I started Carnivore on Sept 1st and I've lost weight and feel much better than I did just 3 months ago which is weird b/c I didn't realize I wasn't 100%. It took about 17 days for my stomach to figure things out and get on the "Carnivore Plan" of bathroom visits which was okay. However, I started with supplements about a week ago, including Magnesium Citrate, which has helped where I needed it to, so I'm doing fantastic now. I had horrible blood work in August and will go back for follow up work on Oct 22nd. I can't wait to see what changes I've made since switching. Really hoping this does the trick!
Starting tomorrow, 30 days and see how it goes. Thanks for your great videos, and especially thanks for making them short and sweet with lots of good info. Last time I only managed 5 days so hoping to go much longer this time!😅
Great video!! I gradually worked my way to carnivore not even knowing i was headed there but i love it! 30 days in! If i can't eat my fav carbs that make me unhealthy (even some healthy ones), then getting to eat so the eggs and bacon and butter and steak and burgers i love is next best.
I think the biggest lesson is: Don't plan to have a bad day or a bad meal but if you do, forgive yourself and move on. Forget it. Also: Don't be too restrictive, this is for you and no-one else. If mixing Keto in with Carni works for you and helps you maintain low carb life, whatever. It's not about purity. It's about what works for your body. Constipated? Add more fat. Loose stools for days? Add more protein. Remove spices and coffee if it continues.
Happy to have found your YT channel today. This is second one I watched today and absolutely enjoyed them. You answered many of my questions which is what i was looking for. Great job!
I don't really want to cook every day, so I usually double my meal. Instead of two chicken thighs, I do four. Warmed up hamburger patties are great. Leftover cold steak with some brie makes a good meal. I cook two pounds of bacon all at once since it makes such a greasy mess. Eat it cold or warm it in the microwave.
Variety helps me stick to carnivore. Bella the Steak and Butter Gal has a fabulous carnivore pancake recipe that I make at least once a week! Topped generously with homemade whipped cream with a touch of nutmeg and a tiny splash of real vanilla extract and lots of melted butter ! Absolutely delicious.
Honest and legitimate question I'm a broken old war fighter with multiple health issues and I smoke cannabis for pain. Today is day one of carnivore for me what is your opinion on smoking cannabis while going carnivore.
I bet going carnivore will help you heal and reduce pain so you eventually wont need anything! Maybe make a plan to taper down & finally quit on that as you start and continue carnivore and start healing.
Thank you for your service, sir! Carnivore will help! High fat cuts help with reducing overall body inflammation which in turn reduces pain and aids sleep. Salt (grinder) to taste ( sea or Himalayan) and look for different recipes if you like variety. Some people notice benefits quickly- others it takes a couple of weeks. Enjoy the flavors and textures the carnivore lifestyle brings!
Just watched a video of a lady with MS who smoked cannabis medicinally for years, and she was eventually able to get off of it because she felt so good on carnivore. Use it till you don't need it anymore. Hugs!!
Carnivore is not for everyone also....there is no point making your food restrictive for no reason but fashion. Since it will reduce the resilience of your gut bacteria. For good.
@@homesteadingwithPJ I first heard the term "lamburger" on an episode of "Three's Company." Jack had promised a lamb dinner to several people in the apartment dinning room. Maybe it was to his roomates and the Ropers or Mr. Furley, and maybe a boyfriend and his parents. But he got distracted by other things in the kitchen, and served everybody hamburgers that he claimed were "lamburgers;" either they were very, very good, or very, very "baaaahd." Years after I first saw that episode, I read Jeff Smith's first cookbook, The Frugal Gourmet, there was a recipe for something he called, IIRC a "Greek Hamburger," that had been inspired by food that was available from street vendors in Athens. It occurred to me that maybe if one substituted ground lamb for the beef, that could be a lamburger. More recently, it occurred to me that one could get one's friends used to eating lamburgers by gradually adding lamb. 1/4 lamb the first time, 1/2 lamb the second, and so on. Then, watching you and other farmers extolling the virtues of hair sheep, I thought it could go from 1/4 hair lamb, 3/4 beef, and work one's way to 100% hair lamb, and then add 1/4 increments of wool lamb.
Your tip about start by eating what you enjoy most is where I'm stuck... I'm half italian so what I love most is PASTA! and bread, and all those carbohydrates... My "why" I'm considering going carnivore is mainly the health benefits I'm seeking for, which I didn't get in any other diet so far... but the problem is I was never such a meat eater. I'm OK with eggs, cheeses and a steak or poultry here and there, but I can't see eating meat three times a day! Just by thinking of it I'm already running out of ideas, which meat, besides rib eye, and how to cook each different cut, how to get on a variety of meals so I won't grow tired of eating the same thing every day... So confused...
This sounds tough! I would say, maybe just try meat once a day and see how that lands on your body and mind. Then slowly adjust it as you're able. It's much easier to slowly step into carnivore than to just jump in! The path of least resistance is usually the path that works. Good luck!
@@Julia29853 I've been doing this research for a while, and I see people, like that tiny sbgal telling how she eats and the amounts of eggs and meat everyday and I can't even get close to those amounts. I've seen guys eating a pound of steak for breakfast, I can't even eat breakfast, I only eat at noon, at most a half pound of meat, two or three eggs and as much fat as I can manage to shove to my face, which I try to make it always at least 20% of the meal. I hope I'm not going to be damaging myself by not eating enough protein. I don't have such a big appetite for those huge amounts of meat, I can't imagine eating more than once a day and that's also something I sometimes struggle. They say you should trust your body and that you need to eat until you're satiated, and one thing to notice is when meat no longer tastes good it means you're full... Well, to me it happens after four or five bites!
@@Julia29853 I do already, but how will that help me consume insane amounts of meat per day if I'm not even enjoying it and can't handle those amounts?
