This video is a beginner-friendly/engineering-free combat build for the Viper Mk III. This build is ideal for PvE and I highly recommend using the system LHS 317 for your pirate-killing needs! I have a link to the build below, enjoy!

I started elite recently. I said to myself I will buy every ship until the cobra, which is essentially a jack of all trades and the new standard for all ships going forward. Viper has taught me flight assist off is not something you are meant to keep on constantly but switch on and off for better turns and maneuverability

The Cobra is a very good ship for sure, the Python is similar in the fact that it's a jack-of-all-trades. Flight assist off is something that takes practice but is not needed all the time.

amazing! I played back in 2017 and went back now, my old Cobra MK died every time I went out to fight with pirates, in Oddisey I can't stand anything. It had never occurred to me to increase the hull! Although it may seem so basic. I already had the weapons and all the secondary components, but I had so much wasted space in which I could improve the life of my ship. excellent video, thank you so much

Just getting started and this is soooo helpful!! I've been trying to do the individual assassinations and it took me forever to find them I thought I was doing something wrong. Also how do you change the HUD colors??

I'm glad this was helpful for you! You can change your HUD colours only on PC and there are a few ways to do it. You can go into the game files and change them there or use a player created tool that can help you customise your HUD. The one I used was the Dr Kai Profiler Tool. A quick google will help you find the tools and tutorials. Feel free to ask anymore questions and consider joining the Discord linked in the description 👍

I mean, tbh, I go with burst lasers and MC on the viper as even one missile rack on it will just eat up all the power.... If it gets stale I put a 2 lvl Cannon or plasma accelerator on a fixed turret. Deadshooting the. With cannons is so satisfying.

Good question! You can change the UI if you have Elite on PC. There are 3 ways that I'm aware of that you can use. 1. Change the files of the game. 2. Use DrKai profile tool. 3. Use EDHM. You'll be able to find all the tutorials and links here on RU-vid.

I'm basically a noob and just bought this ship as my first ship, and when I went to look for the majority of the internal components you showed here they were not there. Is it because I'm just starting off and I need to unlock it? Like for example in optional internal I don't even have a shield generator, all I can get is some thermal thing (I forgot the full name of it).

Not every station sells every type of component, you may need to go to a station in a different system to find what you are looking for. I'd suggest a military system station if you can find one.

Correct, there are few stations that have everything and in order for you to be able to go there you have to meet the requirements. Luckily the website INARA is super helpful and can help you find at least most of what you need in one place. I highly recommend checking it out. It's amazing help to us CMDR's. In your last Cobra MK III Video you used Multicannon 1 x small 1 x medium Hardpoint and now 2 x medium. What are your thoughts?

For the Cobra build I put the ballistic and thermal weapons in small and medium respectively to see if the damage would be evenly spread and increase the DPS but it turns out having the multicannons on the medium and the pulse lasers on the small actually increased the DPS. Cobra DPS: 35.3 - Viper DPS: 37.7. I've also found that once the shields are down you have more fire power to destroy the enemy ship if you use the ballistic weapons in the larger hardpoint. This isn't always true in all builds because it really depends on what weapon types you're using so I suggest if you would like to experiment with a build before spending the credits you can use the Coriolis website or EDSY website to have a look at the details of the build and see if it's viable.

Good question! I did consider it but I felt a little restricted by the utilities at the time so I decided against it. There's no reason why can't experiment yourself so you can see if it's a viable option for you.

@@KreeKree I'm coming back to the gameafter nearly a year and was never a cmobat pilot; miner and explorer so trying your Vulture build from another video. Having issues even with your power management. Not sure why but the weapons always lackpower or the frameshift drive is off.

I see, do you feel it should be able to do more? This is a great ship once engineered so with this one it gives you a baseline build. I do always recommend experimenting with your builds however because everyone plays differently. o7
