Recently diagnosed with metastatic melanoma and I've needed a new hobby as a distraction and to pass time while I'm off work and at appointments. I've been frustrated lately trying to follow RU-vid videos on how to crochet for beginners, until I came across your video! I just finished my first Infinity scarf that looks good enough to gift for Christmas. Thank you for helping me figure out this new hobby of mine that is so therapeutic❤

Caterina Pennacchini have you tried using a stitch marker to mark the last stitch of every row that way you know where to put your hook when you get there. It helps me because like you I sometimes have trouble finding that last stitch.

I have a size 4 yarn and a 5.5 crochet hook. How many chains and rows do I make, so my scarf can look like yours?

I really like this pattern of doing single, half double and then double bc it’s taking me foreverrrr to do it just as single stitches

Would it be okay to use size 5 yarn with an 8mm, and then do 15 stitches per row?

Hi, yes absolutely! I would just add some more rows to make it a good length to wrap around at least once. This is pattern can be used with any size yarn and hook, just keep adding rows to create the length you would like :) Happy crocheting!

Yes absolutely! Be sure to use the right hook size (look at the yarn label for guidance). Your chain amount and row amount will be different for smaller yarn size though so keep that in mind.

You can make this scarf with any size yarn or crochet hook. You will chain how many you would like to create the width of your scarf. I would suggest using the size hook it states to use on the yarn label of the yarn you choose.

Just telling 10mm hook isn't helpful as my hooks only have letters on them . Please list the letter size of hook also !

When I hold the hook up and go over the size you can also see the letter "N" as well. It is at the 38 second mark. Thanks!!

Maybe it's me...how many sc crochet how many 1/2 dc and how many D.C. In all ..when you know when to stop? As beginners you guys put stuff on here and don't really show beginners what your doing take your time and show us..your showing it's for beginners,beginners don't know what there doing..

Lori Culotta sorry you feel this way, but this video is the last video in a whole beginner series. The other videos go into depth on how to do all the stitches used in this video. Feel free to go back and watch the rest of the series, if you’re feeling lost. As for how long you need to go, I say in this video that you simply keep going until it is the length you want. You can make it as long or as short as you would like. We are starting with the width and each row you add creates the length. Happy crocheting!
