I agree with Rashmi, the turns aren’t very clear. Since they’re so crucial. I’m going to try marking the joins, but even then I’m a little confused as to what’s next, sorry 😢 xx
I tried this, but ended up with one side looking like single crochet, and the other had more horizontal lines/bumps texture rather than diagnal.. any ideas what I did wrong? 😬
I've been looking for the right scarf to make for a Christmas prezzie and this is it. Thank you so much for sharing your tutorial and design, it looks amazing for such an easy to follow stitch for me as a beginner
Love this pattern. To create a normal scarf (not infinity), does it still require an odd number of chains for the foundation? Then begin and end each row with a slip stitch?
What a beautiful pattern! It was very easy to work and didn't take long to make at all. Thank you for such a beautiful scarf!! It's definitely my favorite 💓 I'm a little hesitant to give it away as a gift.
My favorite pattern! Love it! I've made several of these and can make one in just a few hours! Only tidbit that I've noticed is that the 'fluffy clouds' are more noticeable in a single color yarn versus a multi-color yarn but I still use this pattern for both. 🔥
So beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this scarf pattern. You’re a great instructor ! So easy to follow. I’m so happy I came across your channel and your beautiful scarf tutorial 🥰❤️
Your description is perfect.... you should just display the final look on yourself or mannequin after finishing the project.... it gives a better idea about the final look
Row 2 -10, do you start and end every row with a slip stitch ? I.e is the last stitch before you join the row with a slip stitch, is also a slip stitch ? The start of my rows are working up as a pointed triangle upwards and start of all the rows looks like that only for me.. not sure where I’m going wrong.
One tip with long chains and to make sure it wont twist is: After a couple chains take your hook out, insert into the chain you will be slip stitching into (the first chain) then continue chaining until you are at the number needed and just pull your hook and working yarn through the first chain you've left your hook in. I hope this helps and makes sense I tried my best to explain! Happy crocheting! I love this piece by the way! Well done!
I LOVE this scarf!!!! It works up for me in about 3 hours and have made three of them in the last month. One to keep and two to gift for Christmas. GORGEOUS and simple to make! Thank you.
Absolutely amazing tutorial, you explained everything super clearly and made it really easy for beginners (like me!) I was trying to make one for my Mum, but I didn't realise changing the yarn size (or weight I think it's called??) would affect the project so much lol 😆 When I try to wrap mine around twice, it looks like it will fit a newborn baby instead hahaha 🤪 So word of warning if you're a beginner like me!!! 🤣🤣Again, awesome tutorial and thank you so so much for explaining things so clearly!!!
I made this and it came out so good! Thank you so much! Well actually I messed up the first try and tried to pretend it was ok but it was clear there were no more puff stitches after the third round so took it all apart and this time made sure to keep track of the number of stitches in each round with all odd stitches being a SS and even being a HDC. Anyway long story short, do you have matching hat pattern, this would make such a lovely gift set! Thank you again!
Lovely scarf..I would like to see you in the finished scarf...just to see if we would like to have it longer or shorter on ourselves. Beautiful pattern.
Just stumbled on to this channel today, I am a new Subscriber to the channel. I have just started this scarf for myself now. You are a great teacher, you make it so simple to do. Thank you ❤ 😊 💓
Hi thanks so much for this pattern! I messed up on the join so I am attempting it again :) Is it correct that every round will end on a ss before we rejoin? Thanks!
So on the third round do you slip stitch on the slip stitch of the prior row? And half double crochet on the hdc of prior round? Thats my confusion. Thanks I hope you can help me.
@@sarahvanvechten3017 yes, it changed the stitch count. You just chain until you can wrap it around twice, but take into mind how wide it will be as you are wrapping it around.
Thanks for making this great tutorial and making the pattern free! However, I feel like the camera didn’t really focus on the part you were crocheting and instead focused on the background so I had a hard time making sure what I was doing was exactly like what u did hahaha… but otherwise, great tutorial. Thanks!
I made your pattern, thank you... I did have a little trouble with the increase row. I guess I was wondering if it should always be opposite pattern on the next row from the one below. I sorta feel as thou I was increasing chains. I think it turned out fine...but mine is not symmetrical. Should it be?
I'm so glad I found this video! I was looking for something to do with this same yarn. I hold my yarn the same way you do, so I was happy to see someone else crochet this way. I am a relatively new crocheter, crocheting for about 6 months or so. I keep trying other ways of holding my yarn, but I always go back to that way, but using my left hand to wrap the yarn. Beautiful scarf! I look forward to trying it.
I'm so happy you found the video! When I first learned to crochet I also tried different methods of holding my yarn. Wrapping the yarn was comfortable for me so I just stuck with it! I'm glad you like the pattern. Let me know if you have any questions :)
You could make a rectangle in the width of the circumference of the head. You will wanna make the height at least 9in if making for an adult/teen. You can then sew the short sides of the rectangle together and then cinch the top.
I would suggest making your starting chain in the circumference you want. Make sure your starting chain is in the correct multiple for the pattern. I would then just follow the pattern accordingly. Hope this helps!
Hi I love this pattern I used a five weight yarn and same hook and stitches and it came out nice. Could I use this for a headband? How many would you recommend?
You could definitely use this pattern for a headband. I would make your starting chain in the length of your head circumference and then just follow the pattern :)
@@rachelbathurst3113 From what I know, a woman's head is 20-22". Bc a headband would stretch a little bit, I would make a chain about 20". If you know the size of the persons head that you are making it for, just make the length of the chain a few chains shorter than the actual circumference. Then proceed with your pattern :) You can also Google "average head circumference" & you will get a ton of info, that way you make this for children as well. Look at the head circumference charts in the images section of google.
I just finished making this for my mom for christmas this year! I only started crochet this summer and this was very easy to follow along. I think the hardest part was knowing exactly where to put the slipstitch at the end of each row. I think next time I might make it a tiny bit longer as well! It's a very pretty pattern, the baby pink yarn I chose looks great with it.
Need your help .. I started the scarf but I'm doing something wrong , because when I join after each round it's looking pointy instead of straight joint .. it looks like an arrow pointing up ( ∆ ) like this symbol... Please help I'm making it for a Christmas gift and I'm running out of time 😬😬
Thank you! Yes I was thinking of making a normal scarf and sewing it at the ends to make an infinity scarf. That way if I want a normal scarf in the future, I can!
I made this scarf and it turned out wonderful! I did add a couple of rows to make it extra chunky and big! Added a couple buttons and it looks amazing!
Another question, if I were to count all the single crochet stiches after the first round, should it also = 121 stitches? Or do we lose a sticht or gain one with the slip stitching and whatnot?
My scarf seems to have a "twist" in it, I restarted it twice and I can't seem to figure out how its gotten twisted. I tried to make sure that when I connected the first chain it wasn't twisted but it hasn't seemed to work. Any thoughts?
I'm getting very confused at the joining of round 1 to round 2. I'm doing a slip stitch to jointge end of the row to the first stitch of the new row, chaining one and then turning and doing another ss? Where? Into the chain? It says ss into the same stitch, the same stitch as what? I'm doing what I think you're doing but it's not working out for me at all :(
Yes, you are going to ss into the same st as your join. This is the same st as the beginning st of the round. Make sure you are counting your stitches as well. Hope this helps!
@@croydencrochet Thanks so much for your reply. I'm still confused ...sorry! When I do my 121 sc around, and I am being careful with my count, I finish my 121st sc and then ch 1, turn, *away* from my ss! For me to ss into the ss join, I'd be crocheting backwards or let to right if that makes sense? Also, in the video, it looks like you're ss-ing before and after you turn whereas the written patten only mentions a ss after the turn....
@@croydencrochet yes!! I’m gonna use it to make my best friend a scarf as a Christmas gift! I made a practice swatch and it’s an absolutely gorgeous pattern even better in person!! Thank you so much for this tutorial! I spent like 3 hours looking for the perfect pattern and this won by far!
