Just completed this poject! I understand the concerns of people who say that this a very generic overused dataset, but I personally found a lot of value and learning in it. As a total beginner in learning stage who has not done a single project because I did not know "everything yet" , this tutorial gave a good overview on how it all comes together. the google collab style of presentation is refreshing, I tried tableau practice for the first time, got ideas on how chatGPT can help with code snippets, soft skills etcetera . now wether is it portfolio worthy? that could be debatable as seen.. but is it an insightful learning experience for absolute beginners? definitely. tldr: I don't care if it is titanic, I am just happy I learnt something and made my first project 😭. It's progress for me, the first stepping stone.

This video should start with “absolute beginner” instead of just “beginner” to make the expectations clear right away, shall it? Thanks for the feedback, btw

Alex, this video is absolutely awesome! I learned so much about how to tackle real industrial projects, which is a refreshing change from the usual fancy, colorful dashboards we see on RU-vid. Your hard work and dedication really shine through, and it's clear you put a lot of effort into making this valuable content. I truly appreciate it. If possible, please create more videos like this with end-to-end projects. It would be incredibly helpful for all of us who want to dive deeper into real-world applications. Thanks again!

Thank you very much for making this video. I just finished the Google Advanced Data Analytics course this week after completing the original google data analytics certificate. I was in the process of building my own website to showcase my projects in a one stop shop portfolio link. But this template will definitely expedite things for me. I loved the presentation and use of AI to generate the very professional summary and to assist in many parts of your project. Though this dataset may be overused, cliche and old, there are many MANY things I have learned just following along and that will be prove to be incredibly helpful and invaluable. I really appreciate your videos and have watched a few others and loving them so far. Thanks for all you do!

And hence this was my recommendation as I believe you can contribute Alot as a creator with data consultancy Experience I am completing Google Beginner analytics for GCP(not the one on Coursera but the one on CloudSkills Boost) and it definitely covers most of the cherry picked details of the work as a "data guy"

Titanic dataset is a straightaway rejection of our resumes be ut beginners or experienced. If you can share portfolio based on the current trends for 2024 that would be of great value Alex
@alexright_data_analytics
@alexright_data_analytics 2 месяца назад
I see the point but not sure I agree with the it. It is an absolute beginner project, so taking an absolute classic dataset and representing it in a creative way using Google Colab “all in” method is ok. This project is intended for people who know very few things about data and just beginning their journey. So exploring all time classic Titanic could be a good and interesting start for them. Also, do not see a problem having it in your portfolio, given that it is well done and you apply for junior roles. Yet, I see your point and for future higher level projects I will be using other datasets, maybe some shuffled copies of those I worked with. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey Alex, Thank you for sharing this great project. I have a question: Age feature imputation with .mean() doesn't sound right to me! Would you do that in a real project scenario?
@alexright_data_analytics
@alexright_data_analytics 2 месяца назад
Hey hey! Why does't it sound right to you? Given we have a normal distribution of the data for Age column (and we do have it), this is a reasonable option. If this would be a more advanced project, I would try to use more precise method, maybe a regression or so, or even a neural network to input the missing values. To chose the best option using a regression/neural network we would need to formulate a metric of accuracy, but this deserves a whole separate video. So, for this one and generally for this case, mean is fine. Hope this helps
