Oh Jane is so beautiful she reminds me of my grandma who passed a few years ago... they absolutely loved gardening ad their garden was so beautiful... I recently found pictures of me as a child repotting pot bound plants with her. Made me cry. Watching this lovely lady helps me relive those memories. Thankyou so much

I like it intercrop marigolds in with a lot of garden beds to attract 🐝 and deter pests. And they are pretty.

The silverbeet and the spring onion. They are so good. I add them to many meals. Straight from the garden there's like a extra element to them. Eating with them as ingredients is like a super food. Shelf produce is nowhere near as good. Peas are easy too, I chose snow peas this year and have more than I can use.

Even as someone who’s been gardening for years, this is great advise.

This looks fantastic, I live close to this community garden and I think that I should come and say hello. I recently started and apprenticeship in gardens and maintenance but I unfortunately have very little room for my own plants.

I really struggle with gardening, I have some succulents but I kill everything else because I can be inconsistent (because of mental health stuff) ... I'd love a video on what other plants can handle my style (also I am renting so they need to be in pots or movable)

Hey, I know your comment was a fair while ago, but thought I’d chime in. I really struggle with lots of gardening tasks for the same reasons. My suggestions would be to chose plants you are really passionate about or interested in. I struggle a bit with succulents and ornamentals, partially because their needs are inconsistent and partially because when I’m not doing too well I either feel like they don’t need care or that aesthetic plants are “pointless” (they obviously aren’t, just my brain being unhelpful). I think it’s maybe because when I haven’t brushed my hair in god knows how long, aesthetic maybe isn’t my highest priority. 😂 My suggestion is plants that need regular care, but are going to be ok if I forget them for a few days here and there. I’d also suggest productive plants, so that there is a goal. I currently have (all in pots) some spinach, zucchini, herbs, potatoes and tomatoes. I’ve also put them and everything I need to care for them close together in a spot I’m in every single day (same areas of our courtyard where I feed the dog and go out for a smoke). Some will succeed, some will fail, but I enjoy the pottering when I have the energy. Rosemary might be a good option if you want to branch out a little, it’s useful, hardy (once it settles in), and pretty happy in a pot. Raising from seed has also helped me a bit, as it keeps me involved and they change every day. Sucks when the happy little seedlings I’ve been loving, suddenly struggle though. Hope you are well and all the very best.
