I really enjoyed this. So many well explained aspects in simple language. Having Emily and Nadiya as the learners is really clever too. Emily who’s played (and been on you tube) before but without consistency plus Nadiya who is a complete novice but clearly has great athleticism. I hope this group continues as it will be fascinating to watch them improving 👍🏼👏🏼

Hi, I had a slicing issue going on, so had a lesson, turns out my grip was the main cause. im not slicing so much now, which is good. ive also realised I just need to concentrate on one thing instead of trying to sort everything out at once. stick with it Nadia and Emily, it will take over your life 😆😆

Picked up a golf club for the 1st time last summer aged 40 I play at a local 9 hole par 3 course (shortest hole 100 yards, longest 210) Very 1st time I shot 68 (+41) but instantly loved it Played once a week and my 10th visit to the course I shot 42 (+15) So I knocked off 26 shots from my 1st time to my 10th time and was really starting to enjoy it more and thought I was improving I then didn't play for 2 weeks but in this time I must have watched 200+ youtube videos from numerous different people trying to improve Got back out on the course I just kept getting worse and worse and worse Watching so many videos and having 6340 swing thoughts in my head clearly was having an impact The thing with RU-vid golf videos is that everybody just contradicts eachother and 9 times out of 10 the same person actually massively contradicts what they made a video about 2 weeks early and it's scrambled my brain My last couple of rounds were worse than my 1st time playing I just stopped playing it was so annoying and haven't played over the winter at all I intended to play through November and stop through Dec-Feb due to the weather but I stopped at the start of October due to how bad I was playing I live in Scotland and its -3/-5 every day and generally raining. But hoping to get back out in March when the weather picks up

Really like that you don't overemphasize technique and talk about different types of shots and how to think your way around the course. Helping them see the creative side and not just hold 10 swing thoughts in their head is the best way to help new golfers engage with the whole game and not get bogged down.

I’ve been playing since august 2023 and hands down this is the best video I’ve ever watched! It’s refreshing to see women play on RU-vid who are coaches or beginners. So many solid tips here! That was the best introduction to course play Nadiya could have hoped for. And plenty of longer established golfers could learn from the mental outlook on the game that Emily and Nadiya already have. I’m sensing Iona working on that with them as much (if not more) than swing mechanics.

One of the first lessons I had focused on rhythm. I have always had a tendency to rush my swing and going back to that original lesson really helps. The pause drill at the top of the backswing has also really helped. Also love watching you swing the club as it really helps me visualize that smooth rhythm.

Thank you for another lovely and fun video. Im so grateful to watch you golf and with friends! Your videos are so full of humility and kindness. ❤ As a beginner, the tips you give as you play a round are so helpful and I take them to the course and practice! And taking video to look at my swing. Very helpful! Lessons from a great teacher is so helpful when possible but I played for so long without lessons. I highly recommend lessons to anyone possible, from an instructor with a good reputation of course. A good teacher can be hard to find. I'm more mentioning this in case anyone considers getting instruction! Self taught golf is brutally hard to repair later!

Really enjoying these episodes with you and the girls. I'm an intermediate player, 12 handicap from Scotland but live in Australia now. One thing which helped me and I wish I'd know about it from day one, or found a coach who followed Ben Hogan's Modern Fundamentals book, Give lessons in Golf. Especially the section on the grip. Gripping too tight is a common mistake for all golfers I guess but the instructions in this book make it simple and with the setup Mr Hogan demonstrates it's impossible to grip too tight. The local Pro here runs a clinic for kids on a Saturday morning and he draws a smiley face on the back of the kids right hands and teaches them to look for the face when they grip to know they've got it right. Very simple and fun for the kids to understand, it also gives them a memory key to take home. I've learnt from that while watching the kids lessons. Keep up the great content, I'll be tuning in to follow the girls progress.

I think the most important thing is not just playing "swing the club" but understanding how to play golf ⛳ and course management. Its 255 in on this par 5? Cant hit your 2nd shot 255 but know your 100yrd shot is perfect? Hit your 150 club and lay up and play that perfect 100yrd to 6 feett of the pin

Sort of beginner, as I am a returner to Golf in 2020. I found RU-vid tutorials GPS / Rangefinders to be very helpful. As for a particular RU-vid tutorial that I've found helpful is was Rick Sheils one that being Right handed you tuck your T'shirt into your left armpit and sort of keep your left arm tight to your torso as you swing your arms/ turn your body / hips. Keeping a tight frame, thus more consistent action.

Again great to watch you all girls what I would say about chip and run shots for beginners is use a 7 or 8 iron as you usually get a better ru our and it can help with putting as it’s the same action. Talking them through their shots is really working Iona and very often it’s more fun to try on the course rather than the range so pick the best time when no one is around

somewhere along the way, i have read and learned from so many different golfers and pros. my tendency is to accept ben hogan’s tips from his book; the stack and tilt principles; and even venetos’ non-movement and swing plane. those lessons and the fact that i had to learn about my body especially the weakness (left knee and left wrist), as i grow older. to accept that swinging as fast and hard, will not work out as well as a smooth controlled swing with proper swing plane that acknowledges my height (5’4”). and that’s just the physical aspect of my game. the mental is my dependency on taoism (the worst definition but the easiest to remember): effortless action. just do; accept the good and bad shots: to just play the game and not worry that i might have a bad day. just enjoy the fact that at my age, i’m still playing. one thing that strikes me is the condition of your greens in the uk versus the usa; putting looks way more difficult.

I only started playing last summer and i've mostly been to the range, i recently played my first 9 holes and scored 67. But a good tip i got in a lesson was to do two practice swings that just brush the floor in a row, then just step in and do the same with the ball in the way, seems to help mostly with swinging smoothly and getting rid of an overload of swing thoughts!
