Another chat with a dear friend from Scotland. Love seeing you “whacking it about” in the sunshine . . . It suits you being warm on the turf in late January!!! I can always count on you to make my Mondays better. Cheers from North Carolina!!! 🍺
Thanks for this Iona, your voice helps you to be very convincing and I am now convinced I should warm up more. I confess I don’t usually unless I’m there too early . I think now I might be early on purpose.😂 love your channel 👏👏👏💙
Thank you for the pep talk on warming up. I have incorporated it for several years getting to the course 30-45 minutes early. The idea of groups of 4 balls is intriguing and will use it going forward. Great video Iona!
Love the warm up tips Iona. Makes loads of sense. Great content once again. Hope your new clubs are working for you and looking forward to seeing how you get along with them.
WOW this sounds very strange but for the first time I can actually watch the weight transfer now having seen Ionas' calves. OH OH OH Which are obviously tremendous by the way. Thanks for the constantly entertaining and amazing content.
Love the warming up vid similar to mine started using 5 balls always hit 4 if they are ok just tap the firth onto range, best to finish on a good shot rather then a shank 😂, also when practicing my putting before a round alway try to get it as close as i can without it going into the hole helps me when on the course 🏌️♀️⛳️
Another great and helpful video. I take all of your tips to the course! I'm so big on practice and warmup, it's very important to me to spend ample time doing both outside of the main round of golf. Thank you Iona! ❤
Iona, What an inspiring and insightful video. It makes me want to go out and practice! I really love your content; you are not just “putting out videos” but really putting thought and purpose in your messaging. You are taking me back to those early times of when I started to truly enjoying golf. Mike D, USA
always good to get advice about how to warm up pre round ive found recently a better way rather than cycling down with my bag and hitting 10 shots into the nets it’s definitely about warming up properly before going out. great advice Iona
Love the content Iona. Thanks from a fellow Scot 👌👏 Would be great to show the 9 hole course Gems in Scotland like Carrbridge. We did a 9 hole Scottish open when the Scottish open was just up the road at Castle Stuart. We always get great comments for Carrbridge , short but challenging course. Great greens by mid summer. 🙏⛳️
Good warm up! I only use the nets at my club as the range isn't long enough to hit anything over a hybrid. I usually hit PW, 7i, 4hybrid, 3 wood and driver. 4-6 balls for each and then 8-10 chips on the green. Due to renovations at the club we don't have a putting green ATM. I do miss that and we are probably not getting it back till May. Anyway good vid iona, keep em coming! 😊😊
Another good informative episode . Like most warm ups isn’t always to the fore when playing a round. It should be we get 25 balls to warm up with ! I have promised myself to use this facility more this year . Following on from your pre round drills I will try to come up with a quick routine to loosen up .Love the drills though especially the chalk line one👍 Hope you played well 🏌️♀️look forward to the next episode.
Great insight Iona. I really like the four balls during warm up,plus finishing with those short putts. Playing Formby Ladies tmw, so will use this drill ⛳️😊
Great video yet again Iona. You have managed to answer lots of questions i had surrounding warming up. I will be trying some of this to give myself more structure to my warm up.
I really enjoy your routine and teaching videos Iona thank you, all your content actually. Today I had my best round for 2024 so far shot a 73 at Belmont wanganui nz I play off 11 so very chuffed
Hello I am from Australia born in Scotland love watching your channel Iona I have a mental problem but still love watching you play golf you hit the ball so straight.would you be able to do a video of on the grip if you could it would be great it’s great to watch seeing the countries you go take care from Tony
Thanks for the warm-up primer Iona. Full disclosure, I do not always get to the course with a lot of time to spare. If you have 10 minutes (or less) to "warm up" what does that look like? Stretches? Swinging a weighted club - maybe not for you with your wrist? A few chips and putts?
Jealous doesn’t begin to cover it. Have a tee time in hour and a half time, 8 winter greens, (frost and surface water) nets only for shots and a chipping area maybe the size of a large living room. Still love it though !
Love watching your videos Iona. Always want to get up and go and practice or play after I watch your videos. I run data driven golf analysis sessions in west London to compare golfer stats to tour averages and see where the margins are to be had. Let me know if you are ever interested.
Great video. If everyone did this I think we'd all play better. In a pinch, I tend to focus on my chipping. The feel of the ball coming off the club is usually enough to get me started. Not ideal by any means, your routine is much better.
Love your content Iona (particularly when you have Deleas with you). Just wondered whether you have tried a wrist band rather than the tape. I have had a problem with my right wrist for a couple of years and have taken to wearing a neoprene wrist band when playing golf, it has a strap I can tighten to provide the necessary amount of support
Wonderful professional warmup everyone shold benefit from! I am 0:11 now wondering how many wedges you carry? I have 4, a 60, 56 sand wedge, a 52 gap wedge and a 48 pw. I love your videos and passing along these great tips!
My course only has a driving net and the mats aren’t the best. I have to treat it as a warm up and I stick to one club, usually something like an 8 iron. It’s not ideal but still better than making my tee shot the first of the day!
Just to add. As someone who's attention span is shocking, having time to warm up physically and get my head into 'game mode' is probably just as important for me. Not that I'm particularly good, but definitely worse of I don't have time to.warm up and get my head in it.
I find one thing that hurts me most on the course is the mental aspect. How do you recover mentally after having a bad hole so that it doesn't have a domino effect on the rest of the round?
Good afternoon I was wondering when and where Iona will be trying to qualify for the open . And also will the channel be recording it ? Whenever it is a wish Iona all the best she must be buzzing and hoping to Qualify for it as it is at the Home of golf St Andrews Thanks ❤
Being someone that suffers badly with back trouble I have to warm up properly before a round. If I don't not only does the game disappear but I usually end up in all sorts of pain
Do you try to find your ”the flight pattern of the day”? I mean on some days I see I just seem to fade more. It usually means that even on the course I will do it.
Using the practice green to assess pace? Not at my clubs you don't because the practice green is NEVER the same pace as the course greens. What to do? Practise those four footers.
