OMG! Thank you so very much for this video - heck, I can do this. Just paid a guy $50 an hour to change some of my outlets out to new ones - whaaaa?!? - and it was this easy? Thanks again!
You completely lost me when you pull the wire to the top box. What wire did you pull up there? And then where did the wires for the bottom outlet come from?
The wire in the bottom comes from your electrical panel. The wire she feed down from the top is new electrical wire she is using to tie them both together so the top will have power.
She put in a new wires. From the new box she cut out (top). Feed the new wire down the back side of the wall, until you see it in the bottom box. This is where all the extra wires came from. this is where she twisted them together and capped off. Up at the top is the new outlet she made.
Thank you for this video! 🙏 Oh my god did I need to see this cuz there's a couple outlets I would love to add and and was going to call an electrician, but now I know how to do it and feel comfortable to trying it, so thank you again 👍
So is this procedure what I could do if I wanted to add another outlet to an area where there is an existing outlet? Like I have an outlet in my living room and directly behind that wall is my bathroom that could drastically use another outlet in that same vicinity. I could use the existing wires?
