Nice guide... this will be very helpful for new rally drivers... I have thousands of hours in rally games and this is exactly what people need to hear... I'm DEFINITELLY not the fastest but I still managed to regularly place on the top 10-15% of all weeklies and monthlies on DR 2.0 by simply being consistent and not trashing the car... outside of Group B monsters I can easily drive consistently every other car in the game ... And this new WRC game is just AMAZING... stages are just sublime... those Chile downhill stages are such insane car killers... it's holy fuck levels of scary when you shoot downhil at 200kph and need to break for a tight 2... you are literally praying as you stomp the brakes... inside you're praying... "please please please stop... " I'm in love with this new WRC game... the stages are BY FAR the best ever seen in any rally game... and the way it drives is just so realistic and rewarding... I was playing on Sweden and you can roll the car so easily... people that say this is "arcady" are absolute morons... the physics are amazing and very realistic... real rally cars don't slide all over the place...

New player here, please do a video on handbrake turns and the Scandinavian flick! I'm struggling with hairpins a lot and your 3 years old vids were the most recent ones that's most informative and professionally done. Would love to see those tips be specifically tailored to EA WRC!

you should be fine using same technique for handbrake turns and scandinavian flicks. Just make sure you're not in fwd car.
@daddynolegs
@daddynolegs 9 месяцев назад
@@lolowski1115you can still do flicks and handbrake turns in fwd cars, you just can't use the throttle in the same way. It's all about proper weight transfer anyway.

New to sim racing. Finally got a direct drive wheel to up my play. You’re the first vid I ever watched that gave the tip of turning off the copilot call symbols. Seems like such an under shared tip. Thanks for great video.

Very useful video series. I'm a fairly long time sim racer in track stuff but recently decided to give WRC a go and highly enjoying it, last rally game I played was Colin Mcrae 2.0 back on the family computer. I'm certainly having to get out of a lot of my habits from track-based racing sims, and there have been a lot of pathetically bad scandi flick attempts so far, in many ways it feels like i'm having to re-learn almost everything from scratch

Thanks a lot. Very helpful indeed. Especially the last point - the zen perspective. It is really difficult to concentrate fully on a very long track. This is completely different from normal races in ACC or Raceroom for example. In Rally you must be on the point very second.

I think a guide on boost management would be a fantastic idea. Its a brand new concept for people like me who came straight from DR 2.0, and is still applicable to those who only recently got into things. Looking forward to more vids from you, i loved your guides for dirt.

Just a point of note, it's highly ironic to discuss calling this game not a simulatiom as a black & white opinion, when your opinion is to remove all subcategories of racing genres and shove a game that isn't a simulation into the simulation category. You are the one who is removing the gray categories.
@skyrex2465
@skyrex2465 9 месяцев назад
My argument wasn't removing "grey" categories, but all categories. If you aim at the made-up "simcade" term: For me there is a huge difference in enjoyment between something like a Project Cars, or a Gran Turismo, but both often get called simcade. Yet a true "simulation" does not exist, as all games make calculation compromises for fluid-dynamic systems (like tyres and aero), even RBR or ACC do not drive 100% like reality. (Yes, I have driven real cars in real motorsport/on tracks) (Ironically I get the feeling many of the professional arguers haven't, especially when the logic becomes "it is more difficult to drive --> so this must be better simulated!") I would encourage people to THINK for themselves and look at each racing game to decide which aspects are important to them. Is the too strong grip on gravel a deal-breaker for this WRC game? Your decision. What do you need to enjoy a driving experience? Pick a fitting game with those criteria then, and don't follow the box-thinking.
