I was intimidated by Google Maps because all I knew how to do was find an address. Thank you for showing me all of these other great features. This is fantastic!
extremely helpful! I got my first exam ever in upwork and requires google map navigation that i have i never used even once! This is on point! Appreciate you! Much love from the Philippines
Many serious problems with google maps. When using it for other countries, it changes to the local language instead of staying on English. Second, when I look up a specific hotel even when using nearby function it changes the location completely rather than searching in the area. They have so many things to improve.
i have somewhat of a difficult question.. when i look up directions to a certain location from another, it tells me (from the starting point) head about 2.5 miles then turn right, for 1.5 miles then turn back left (this road runs comes to a stoplight). the road I started on runs right into the same stoplight with a left hand turn lane. why would Google tell me that route instead of reamaning on orginal road & turning left at the stoplight?
You didn't tell them that when you want to do the street view that you just click on the street view man and go over to the blue street and double click for the street view. Only streets and roads with the blue during street view is street viewable. You can assume that if the road or street doesn't change to blue means the area is a private community and access is strict.
What I'd like to know is does Google maps work the same way as a satnav where it shows you exactly where you are during the journey to your chosen destination?
This is a good, basic introduction. But how can I determine driving distances using Google Maps? It's nice that you can check hotels, but HOW WILL YOU KNOW WHERE TO CHECK for a hotel, IF YOU CAN'T FIND A DISTANCE AND TIME? You wind up doing DOZENS of searches, repetitively, to find out where you might be for a given time or mileage, checking on one that is too close, and then one that is too far away, and then finally finding something that matches your travel plans, all by trial and error. Now do this AGAIN FOR EACH DAY OF TRAVEL! That is a LOT of effort for something that should be simple. I want to plan a trip of 500-600 miles per day over several days. How can I break my trip down into segments, so I can PLAN where I stop for meals and hotels? With a paper map, I can do that all in 10 minutes and have my trip planned out on a daily basis, whereas with Google Maps I will still be struggling to find out how far I even got that ONE day, based on putting pins in various locations and then seeing what random numbers I come up with. And then I STILL have 5 or 6 more days to plan out.
Could you make a video that will show specifically how to create a shaded radius around a point in Google maps? If it can be done, Google seems to be keeping it a secret.
Very user unfriendly if you ask me ....I loved MapQuest for ease of use ...when it worked...i feel like if one has to go searching how to use a program it was not designed well
If she thinks you are stupid then that makes her stupid even if you are smart. Parents should not verbally abuse their own children like that. But she has probably been abused. I suggest you learn what mature behavior is and teach your mother how to be a better mother.
If only it was that simple!! My map is covered in icons or buttons along the top for restaurants, garages, hotels, groceries etc that I don't want on my screen! I just want the map like you have !! Why can't you make a video on how to get rid of unwanted screen 'clutter'! I've tried every type of question on google but it never gives an answer. I am being dictated to by Google and I don't want to be.
Hi< I'm planning a motorcycle road trip, and I want to record the route I've taken, so I can show where I was when I took pictures after I get home. Is there an option for this on Google Maps, or do you know of an easy iphone app that will do this? Thanks for you help, Mike
The point of the Google Maps to SHOW where you are, and where to go. The Navigation has several settings, and works different in various devices - you can do tests.
I have used google map to only get directions from point A to B. Now if I had a long trip to plan with multiple stops, it's impossible. It is not user friendly. They are introducing new stuff, why not teach me how to plan a trip across Canada?
If you click on the little yellow man you will notice that some streets turn blue and some don't. So...if a street turns blue then Street view is available for that street. If that street doesn't turn blue then Street view is not available for that street.
I can answer that question Daniel. 1) The Google Earth view is a picture taken by a satellite above the Earth. 2) The Google Street view is a picture taken by a car that's owned by Google (with a camera mounted on its roof) that drives down that road. So...if you can see a Street view of a particular street then that means that the car with the camera mounted on its roof has driven through that street and then uploaded the images for everyone else to see on Google Maps! If it's doesn't have a Street view today then it might do so in the future as Google constantly updates streets as time goes by.
