I have a Renault Trafic bus. I use a tarp, and place magnets on the bus ( 4 magnets you use in house for knives ) , and also use those poles. Easy and cheap .

Awesome setup. Affordable, super small storage, versatile setup location, and easily replaceable if it gets damaged. You just can’t beat it.

Other channels focus on the latest and most expensive methods to do what you did with simple applications. Thank you so much for simplifying car camping for us noobies. Your highly technical method of making kindling for your fire was spot on. I will subscribe to your channel and l will look forward to learning from you as I delve into the unknown.

Thank you very much and it makes my day that the info I put out helped you! Helping people get into enjoying the great outdoors is the drive behind why I do this. If you are looking for information on car camping I would recommend a Facebook group called "Car Camping". They are a very helpful and creative community that keep budget in mind. You are also welcome to leave a comment with any questions or email me at info@overlandcalling.com.

Nice Brian! I've actually already have most of this stuff on hand including the Devos Light Ranger that sombody gited me. Great idea for using it to prop up the middle of the tarp.

Gifted things are the number one budget items ever! I can’t believe I forgot to mention that one. What is one of your favorite budget items that I didn’t think of to put in the video?

I do typically pack a hatchet but the hammer seemed to do the trick well. I bought a Rinsekit for when I surf but it definitely comes in handy while camping.

@@AR-vx8vd being able to was off after some time in the water would be priceless. The week camping on the beach taught me that salt water showers are not good for multiple days.

@@AR-vx8vd I do still carry a hatchet. It’s actually my Dad’s old boyscout hatchet. I only use it to clear the trails though. Already have my BFH out for the tent stakes, so it makes things easier.
