Glad there is a guide because my Gerald sucks chum. Reptar keeps beating my butt in and Azlua feels like there’s no openings and I just give up instantly. She just keep getting her attacks on me first and it’s just annoying. Even when I air dodge she always catches me. I feel I’m always far behind on learning this game already

It's definitely tough. Certain characters like azula and reptar are absolute menaces (and they're already being nerfed)! Keep practicing and definitely watch good players vs them if you can!

I would love a version of the advanced section that actually explained how to do the advanced tech. Ive watched comp melee so i know the names of these advanced tech but dont know how to do it exactly. So if you make a part 2 without the time limit, itd be great to know how to input the advanced tech

Short hop fast fall aerials - There is a macro in game to do a shorthop aerial (jump and attack at the same time) and the fast fall part comes from pressing down when you reach the peak of your jump to cancel the endlag of the move Wavedashing/Wavelanding - By quickly jumping then pressing air dodge down and to the side (so a diagonal) you can move extremely fast on some characters and improve the control of your movement. Wavelanding is simply done by wavedashing onto a platform.

Lightly tap your "jump" button. If you hold it down, it will be a full hop.

@@allahmarbra5931 genuinely, you just have to be faster. It's not about how fast you press it down but how fast you let it go after it's pressed. In Smash, if you release jump before the characters model has left the ground, it's a short hop. Ultimate characters all have 3 frame shirt hop windows except Kazuya

Screw it, I’m done with online. My Ember shit and my Gerald garbage. Raphael is annoying to get past, I’m struggling against Patrick and I’m screwing up against Plankton. I just quit playing online. I can’t understand jack shit. I’m trash at online.

It's definitely tough. If it's not fun, then def step away from it. No sense in forcing yourself to play. I like ember but she is not as good as most of the cast sadly
