Hello again!!
Thank you for checking out our RU-vid channel. In this video Matt talks about solutions for slightly nicking yourself while shaving. It's common when trying a new razor or a slight miscalculation in angle or pressure that a light nick can occur. This is a common problem both men and women have but with these solutions, you have no need to fear!

You're the biggest badass of all time. A tutorial for nicks could have done with animation or some other method, but no: you cut your face in real time. Thanks for the transparency, you've gained a subscriber and a customer!

The funny thing is that these cuts rarely really hurt. Ya, they sting for a second, but then I'll forget about them until I put on aftershave.

Thanks for taking one for the team and cutting yourself for demonstration purposes. I was expecting the blood to come gushing out but to my surprise, it didn't. A great lesson on nick, cut, and weeper repairs.

A sharp blade will prevent nearly all nicks and cuts. I use a cutthroat razor, and about the only time I get a nick is when the blade isn't properly sharp. Thanks for your videos.

Can you use alum block, rinse it after 30 seconds + witch hazel(or another toner or astringent) + aftershave splash or balm(or both) + moisturizer or would this routine be too irritating for the skin?

Sounds irritating but you need to try for yourself.

Alum block doesn't stop big nicks, I cut my lip shaving and nothing stopped the bleeding.

Big cuts to the head will bleed alot, lips particularly so. But in general I find that an Alum block helps even if it doesn't completely stop it. Alum does tend to sting a little though.

I've heard or read that a dab of petroleum jelly will also stop the bleeding.
