On my setup, I have had to use my Zone 2 preouts on my old Pioneer VSX-31 to my vintage 30 year old Pioneer VSX-D1S that I still use as power amp. I was using a Marantz SR 5012 as a processor/preamp but it stop working recently after 3 years of owning it. I had to go back to using my previous reciever my Pioneer Elite SC-65 which I have owned for 8 years. The Pioneer VSX D1S or later iterations like the D2S and D3S are definitely hidden gems something look out for to review.
So far, I’m super impressed with the build quality and it is absolutely dead silent at idle.I’ve had issues with some amplifiers adding a hiss or a ground loop so I was supper happy when I turned this bad boy on. Review will be coming soon. Thanks again for the continued support, buddy!
It’s a real beast! So far, I’m very impressed with this amp. So much so, that I’m possibly planning on adding the HTP-1 a year or so down the road. Monolith just seems to have a fantastic blend of quality and price. I’m a fan! Thanks for the compliment, my friend!
Set-up looks great! I recently got an outlaw amp and have the Panamax MR5100. Most into I found said power conditioners choke amps so it's best to plug into the wall. It would be cool to see you do a comparison video to see if you notice a difference. I tried both and felt like in the wall (with surge protector) was slightly more revealing sound. Could totally be in my head though.
How is that receiver working for you? Since it's basicilly the same product as an Arcam receiver, that has/ had many bugs and didn't measure very good.
