I noticed you have the RP600 behind the Polk. Honestly I’m on the hunt for these exact two speakers. What do you like about them versus what you don’t like? Thanks!
Thanks for this. My daughter and her husband are fixing to move into a duplex, and they're looking to get a good setup that won't bug the person on the other side. Also, loving the leg lamp from A Christmas Story (assuming it's the same one).
I purchased 4 Mythos One, 1 Mythos 3, 1 Super Cube, and Onkyo towers for $700. The seller was "upgrading" their home theater. I'm building mine with these. I did a temporary trial install, and I'm mind blown. after I prepare my wall acoustics, I'm acquiring 2 more M-One, and another Cube, plus a couple of M-3, for Atmos effects for the finished home theater. The original purchase included an Onkyo TX-DS898 receiver. Great sound specs, but that one needs to be upgraded for Atmos feature.
A lot of people complain about the harsh treble. I use an Audio Source ( Ferris Beuller) EQ with pink noise to tune my room to as flat as possible and high-pass at 80Hz with a powered sub for the deep lows. Problem solved! Excellent, exciting, sound. Very dimensional and wide soundstage.
I have a pair of 602 s1 and I've always enjoyed them. Someone in my town was selling the series 3 version for $555 Canadian (399 USD) which I thought seemed high. Someone bought them. I recently ordered a pair of Polk R200s that I got for a good price and I'm looking forward to an A/B showdown. Whatever loses get kicked out of the listening room and into the living room.
Hey Average Guy Hifi, could you PLEASE help me out? I just purchased these RTI A3 speakers secondhand on Facebook Marketplace and the power ports had been removed. I still have them but the screws are missing. Could you please tell me which screws these take? I talked with Polk customer service and they weren’t able to help me since these speakers were discontinued. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
Over 5 minutes of waffle before we actually get to see the thing. You spend way too much time telling folk what you're going to do.....just DO it man. That all aside, a pretty good review. I'm thinking of buying one for my Yamaha 3060 as that gets pretty hot and as far as I know it has no internal fan whereas my old Yamaha 1400 did have a fan!
I wish I could get those Sony's for $75/Pair... They are more than double the cost here in Canada... SAD! If I could get them for $75 'Canadian' new per pair I'd get two sets... I have 2 Sony Atmos speakers attached to my ceiling in my livingroom...
Considering that many of us will likely be buying these new and in mint condition, your very first nit about construction quality is really unfair. You should have stuck with the sound quality, given that you knew that you purchased damaged speakers.
Hi, hope you get to read this, I have a pb16 ultra, pb 1000pro and a pb 1000 regular. All in pristine condition. But I’m having the sealed sub bug. Do you think I can trade the pb 16 + pb 1000 regular + cash for 2 sb16’s? I need the other 1000 pro in sealed mode for near field. Thoughts?
I’ve owned about 50 different systems, all of which were very average at best. I’m finally in a position where I can buy nicer equipment. My previous experience, with literally 1,000 different speaker pairs, over the last 20 years, most of them being used, is why I think people like my little channel. That and I use my own money to buy everything, so I try to be as honest and unbiased as possible with my subjective thoughts. If you don’t think this setup is “average” you’re definitely not going to like my next room tour video. Haha
@@blazermdx Im glad you’re able to buy nicer equipment now, im slowly working my way up there currently running the polk rti a3-9 series and im loving them so much its the most ive spent on speakers so far. That’s exactly why I love this channel most speakers i’ve seen being listed online that im interested in, you have a video on with detailed reviews. Keep it up man you need to upload more this channel has a lot of potential, im excited to see the next room tour!
Very nice Review😀 Do U think this Sub can replace my much bigger Velo DD15 SUb? The Point is, i dont need high Volumes..., had my DD15 max. 30% turned up. But need the high Quality low and precise Bass in low-mid Volumes. What do U think?
No way! You already have one of the best sealed subs on the market, for its time and size. The Velodyne DD series subs were extremely accurate due to the power and the Servo technology. This little sub is just fantastic but it can’t compete with that beast of a sub you already have:)
@@blazermdx U could be right..., iam pretty happy with this Monster. But the Specs of the HRS12 are even better than on my Dd15...the HRS12 goes down to 18Hz...., but the DD15 only down to 20hz...hats pretty strange..., So iam pretty curious the smaller HRS12 could even sound deeper......And another Point is the pretty high Power consumption of the DD15...the HRS12 needs only the half Power...ANd energy cost in Germany are momentary pretty high...(: because of our stupid Government and wrong energy Policy...So i still think the HRS12 could be a pretty good Replacement...I think i will try it...and will let U know the Results...there are some good offers here in Germany for 600-700 bucks for the HRS12. Life is beautiful and i love experiments (:
It’s a smart investment, in my book. Plus, these fans will most likely outlast the receiver/processor technology, so you can keep using them when you upgrade. Thank you for the input!
I’ve had this set of speakers for about 14 years and absolutely love them. I am due for an upgrade . How much would I need to spend on new speakers to get a noticeable upgrade over this set? And do you have any recommendations? Just barely starting my journey on a new speaker search. Thanks
