Looking to build a home flight simulator and want to build a new flight sim PC to spec?
This is the video you are looking for. I talk about how to find the minimum and recommended specs for your flight sim software (Microsoft Flight Simulator or X-Plane)...
... And then how to garner some additional inspiration for actually getting your custom flight simming pc built.
You can either do it yourself, buy it online, or go to a local custom computer shop to buy your individual PC elements and have them build it for you. It's surprisingly less expensive than you would imagine.

really glad you found value with it! I’d actually love to do a collab vid with a computer guy and walk through a setup and do some q&a for a future updated version of this vid. But this should get you moving in the right direction for sure!

I've been running msfs on xbox-x and it's so aggravating and buggy. I need a pc. Best video I've seen so far for this!

@@jdub7771 O only have a 3050 but I am upgrading to a 4060 mini because that’s the fastest GPu i can fit. I’m running an i7 with 32gb ram

My current PC is stuck in 2018 with specs (Ryzen 2600, Radeon RX580, 16gigs RAM) but can surprisingly run MSFS on Ultra at around 30-60fps!

@@flightsimguides Thanks! Yeah, the board is new enough so I could someday replace the CPU with a newer Ryzen, and I could replace the GPU with an RTX 3060 or a Radeon 6600.

Can you explain a bit more what GNS is, and why it runs better (or at all?) on intel?

I’m probably referring to the RSG (real sim gear) version of the Garmin GNS 430 and 530. Which is a GPS and navigational aid and also acts as a radio and VOR receiver. According to RSG website, these devices on on PC but what I may have been referring to is the integrated graphics card on an Intel chipped PC. Intel chips allow for integrated graphics via plugging the 430 or 530 directly into the PC (via USB). Not saying intel is the better option, but just the version I went with. Hope this helps.

It seems like you are saying that AMD GPUs are not compatible with Intel CPUs (sorry if I misunderstood). Either GPU manufacturer will work with either CPU manufacturer, you just need to install the proper drivers for your chosen GPU in your OS.

Will this give me max specs for Flight Sim. 40th. Anniversary edition: AMD 2700X 8 Core 4GHz. 16gb Memory. NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 8gb.

Max specs? Nah, but it should run just fine on that. Check out the video for where to go for ideal and advanced level specs for msfs…

@@flightsimguides well some people are saying that nvida cards run better for xplane 12 and that you should stay away from amd cards. And on the other hand people are saying it’s fine to get amd cards for xplane 12. Im just wondering becuase amd cards are in my budget.
