I never thought of improving my handwriting, I thought it was perfect just as it was, because my sister had much worseer handwriting than mine. Than today I saw that my cousin had much beautiful handwriting and it looked like he writing calligraphy so I thought of trying it too

That is way above my talent. I watched this because i have bad handwriting and this happen to be in my recommended list. It amazed me that people can do this. I’ve Never been more impressed by the word Monday. I would never be able to get my lines to connect and come together like that. This is like watching somebody paint.

Hi Morgan Jackson, HB technically means “Hard and Black”. It is usually used for school. The other pencils, for example 3H and 4B, are used for sketching, shading or drawing. You can use HB for calligraphy. It’s your choice. I hope this short passage will help make things more clear. Warm regards, Jessline

I want you to know that I've been playing at calligraphy for many many years. I've even addressed wedding invites. But this video and the following one has finally pulled everything together for me. I tried the pencil one and could NOT believe the results. I was stunned. Then I used the pens from the next video and thought why haven't I picked this up before. Thank you so very much for this help. I'm overwhelmed with the technique I am now using. This is a "believe it or not." Kudos to you.

I’m reading the comments here, being like “what?!” Honestly, you don’t need a calligraphy pen to do calligraphy. In my opinion, pencil is easier to use. But it depends on the type of pencil that you like to use. In the video, she shows a standard pencil, which is fine if you like that type and of pencil. But for those who prefer a mechanical pencil, it’s better use that.

same. just use the things you have that is suitable for you :) the different tools you use will give different results, so choose the one you prefer

Also you could do monoline regular cursive-style writing and then add the "shading" kinda like fauxiligraphy... it works brilliantly with a pencil!

When I was in 3rd grade I really wanted to improve my hand writing but before trying to improve my writing it was rly good I got many certificates in calligraphy competitions but after I tried to copy one of my frmds hand writing it just was not comfortable but I stuck to it she wrote try slanted letters which was jot my style like that only I tried to change writing again and again but when I came in 5th grade I realized that I am the only one who can write with my style so if my frnds wanted to change writing they won't be able to do it like my like I can't do like them so conclusion is : never try to change ur style cuz you are unique with it u are the only one who can do that u are special so don't try to ruin that speciality u are born with | if just one student changes thier mind about calligraphy after reading this I will be really happy 😊

In my land, past generations were taught calligraphy at school. They also used it in writing, just as cursive writing (but many also used normal non-cursive writing). Nowadays, people here don't really use cursive at all so it's pretty hard to find someone who could write so nicely here (greece)... I had a german guy whose handwriting was really amazing - looked more like your cursive one :) i remember he was kinda shocked when he noticed all my notes were in non cursive style :P he was even more shocked when he figured out the whole class wrote like me :P

That was how I was taught to write in grade three and I got 100% in my yearly exam. Which said, as close to perfect as I have ever seen. After watching this and the next video. I wasn’t taught cursive, I was taught Calligraphy. I just thought my next teacher was really bad at writing. In grade 4 all schools changed to a new way of writing, it was uglier but I could still do it but I never thought I could learn Calligraphy. Then came computers and I stopped writing. My writing is horrible now. Thank you.

I love your tutorial, thank you so much 😚!! I am left-handed and my Grade 1 teacher used to tap me (quite hard on my knuckles with those wooden rulers with the metallic strip on it because she used to say "you stupid girl , you will get nowhere in life using your stupid/dirty left hand.....oh my goodness and now you know I'm not so young anymore 😂😂), but anyway I wish I could show her my paintings/art and all I achieved in life, unfortunately she passed away long long time ago. My handwriting is not bad but still my 5 and s looks like twins 😅, and I thank you for your understandable way of teaching calligraphy. Love from Gerbrecht (South Africa).

Hey I tried using the tip of a highlighter and It worked great You just need to find the pointiest part of the tip and you can get a thin line and a thick line (just with pressure)... This is a great cheap alternative for a brush pen, you don't need an expensive one just get the ones that everyone uses for school.
