ive fished for 30 years in the biggest sea-lough in the uk mostly for sea-trout but ive started getting into l.r..f. recently i have to admit its great fun, its the appeal of sea-fishing that you never know what will grab you, great video mate 👍👍
What a cracking video and thank fos sharing that info ,,,,, I don’t personally do any sea / coast led but the principle you use I do the same for my perch fishing .... something I will have to try though next time I pop to Whitby for the day ( if the missus lets me that is 🤣🤣) .... spot on video and all the best 👍🏽🎣😀
Good video, I'm miles away from any saltwater but this super-light lure setup appeals to me. Do these little jelly lures work in silty estuary waters, or do you need something bigger or with a bit of vibration?
Hi Graham, Glad you found it helpful. You can buy the swimming Jigheads in my shop www.silverscaleslurefishing.co.uk The box is a Snowbee fly box, half is foam and the other half compartments. I'm not sure they do that particular one anymore but pretty sure there are others around similar. Was a lot cheaper than the Spro stocker boxes! Hope that helps. Chris.
Hi Paul, glad it was helpful. If you're wanting to take the kids to do a bit of this, ideal places are Sandown and Ryde piers. Always loads of small fish about and easy access for the little one's ;)
Thanks. That particular box is a Snowbee compartment box as used for tube flies and associated bits. Not sure they sell them any more but you should be able to find something similar by searching for tube fly box or Compartment box on the internet.
“Sometimes you can’t stop catching”. Oh, well. I’m doing LRF for 6 years and I’ve caught 3 fish, does it count? I have the 1-10gr shimano katana, the shimano nexave 1000, the thin x-braid, fluorocarbon lead, I’ve used all the lures you’re showing here, and I’m sure the fish in my place are extremely smart or extremely scared.
Hi Dimitrios, not sure whereabouts you are, Greece maybe? going by your name? 3 fish is better than no fish and of course they all count... Your kit looks fine to me and if you've used the same or similar lures, and I'm assuming you are familiar with the various methods of fishing lrf, there shouldn't really be any reason to not catch. Obviously I don't know how fish stocks are in your location but I do see a lot of videos of fish being caught on lrf around the Med, (assuming that's where you are), I really wish I could be of more help to you and I do understand your frustration. Perhaps there is someone local who is successful at lrf that could give you some help? Either way I wish you the best of luck and please do keep watching my video's hopefully you might be able to pick up some helpful tips. All the best. Chris
@@SilverScalesFlyTyingandFishing Greece, you guessed it right. Right where I’m fishing, you can see 10 or some times 20 persons fishing, most of them get no fish at all, some get 2-3 small fish on their bucket. You can see the fish swimming by, but they’re very suspicious and don’t take a bite. Fishing is all about relaxing and getting your mind off of other things, but if you only get 1 fish every two years, it starts getting frustrating. No wonder why those with live bait keep the 3” fish they catch. It’s not legal, but if that’s the only fish they can have for dinner, so be it.
Great video, very helpful .just one thing ,the shimano Exgage reel is impossble to get hold of currently ,what would be your current model reccomendation? Please.
Hi Patrick, glad you found the video helpful. The Exage is no longer produced but in the current Shimano line up the Catana and Sahara reels are very good and will perform well depending on your budget. Hope that helps. Chris.
Do a Google search, you should be able to find a UK supplier. I used to stock them but haven't got any at the moment. Will maybe restock early next year.
I've not noticed an obvious difference as far as catching fish goes though pink is less visible underwater, but if you use a fluorocarbon leader then this isn't an issue. Chartreuse is more visible at night and in low light conditions, helpful for following the progress of the lure, pink is more difficult to see.
