This did not work how I originally thought it would but honestly I think I prefer the way it actually is! It is somewhat annoying to have to bring the pieces in individually but this is what you would have to do before anyways.
This feature is not so much adding "construction animation" as it is making an interface that makes it easily easy to create them. This tutorial is aimed at artists who have never done this for any of their scenes!
As mentioned in the video, all files that you need to do this can be found through this link. I will also attach the file itself so you can see what I did.

If you want all the models to align you need to place the first item where you want it and then import all your models. Then select the first model, then the rest using Ctrl. Then with all model selected click the Align Positions in the advanced options. DO NOT LOCK THE MODELS IN PLACE OR THEY WILL NOT ANIMATE.

Sorry I am a little confused by the last part. What do you mean by locking the models? Thank you for checking out the video by the way!

@@LuminousLabs i think what he means in the last part is you might group them unknowingly and then afterwards might be unselectable. But good work bro. Keep the content coming.

@@ianmukiibi3 I think you are right Mukiibi! I will definitely learn how to organize the files better as I get more complex projects done with it. Thank you for checking out the channel I appreciate your kind words!

@@LuminousLabs He means literally 'locking'. You can do this with the Lock function on the topright panel next to reload model. Most of the time you will lock a model so you can't move it around by mistake.

Had a quick look for a plugin for SketchUp to set all your components / groups axis to the world axis. Makes unique components out of instances. Would be quick then to just set all the imported model objects to the same location in Lumion... No having to line them up. Look for "Originate component axes" from TIG on sketchucation.com, or in the sketchucation extension store plugin in SketchUp. Also "Groups to Components" by thomthom to turn all the groups into... then you can save your whole component library out with all the model components. sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=388665#p388665 sketchucation.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=29462

Unless the effects like pop in and implode are based on the origin points of the models... then that might not work.
@LuminousLabs
@LuminousLabs 3 года назад
@@JAR3DHAYN3S I am not sure if they are based on the origin point, however since you can do things like stagger it might work. I will definitely be looking into this because that sounds like it would save a ton of time. Thanks Jared!

nice video, i have issue with this workflow. when i import walls in multiple fbx, as u know to get stagger effect. walls material id is lost. now i have to assign materials to all walls individually.
@LuminousLabs
@LuminousLabs 3 года назад
I actually didn’t know this at the time but you can save material sets. It is a bit faster since you only have to click once for every component. It’s one of my next videos coming out tomorrow hopefully

@@LuminousLabs that's great, u can try to figure out said issue too. Ur way is good but still time taking for too many objects

Is there a way to make the objects gently fade in and out instead of pop in or grow up into the scene?
@LuminousLabs
@LuminousLabs 3 года назад
I actually looked more into this and I don't think so, at least not in the animated phasing feature. I actually think I do have a solution however but it does involve extra rendering.

Can you make furniture appear from out of nowhere? I mean kinda the same effect as the Property Brothers do.
@LuminousLabs
@LuminousLabs 2 года назад
Sorry I took so long to response Jhon! If you are still having this problem I think in animated phasing you are able to set it to something like rise from ground, you can make effect 0 or a few milliseconds to give that pop effect. Sorry it has been a while since I used Animated Phasing so I hope that helps.
