You know your channel and another channel is the only one that I've seen that actually show people how to do this.ive always wanted to learn how to do it but the people I've talked to that do it didn't want to show how it's done because it's basically "taking away from their cut". I'm glad you're showing how to do it. I love art and I love making it. Plus if times are tough and I need some extra funds I can always make a few and sell them for some extra pocket money.

Fantastic work Jon mate. Your texture on the planet was perfect. The only thing I'd change is maybe put a shadow and highlight on either side of the planet before replacing your pan lid. Brilliant tutorial mate

Hi Tony, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment and great feedback i really appreciate it :) Yes the shadow and highlight part is coming up in my next tutorial, I didn't add them to this one as this was more of a tutorial to get people use to what spray paint they are using etc :)

Hi Jon, great turorial, ive learnt so much from your videos, especially over other vloggers. Ive noticed that all your canvases are horizontal, however, i would put your lessons into practice on a vertical surface, ie my van doors, what problems can you foresee and how would you keep the lid in place? Keep up the tutorials buddy
@JonBarberArt
@JonBarberArt 4 года назад
Hi Paul, Thank you so much for the kind words and for taking the time to leave this great comment and fantastic feedback i really appreciate it :) It's also nice to hear that my videos have help you learn :) I do have a van myself and have been thinking for a while now about painting the back doors with a space scene on them, still in the thought process of how to do it tho, like holding the planet stencils in place etc, but when i do figure it out i'll be making a video of me painting it :) sorry Paul i couldn't be helpful at this moment in time.

@@JonBarberArt thanks for the reply Jon the only way i can think is fridge magnets or your overlay practice, but i think both of these would be very time consuming, as i would have to wait for each part to dry, whats your thoughts? I look forward to the video, thanks again Paul
@JonBarberArt
@JonBarberArt 4 года назад
Hi Paul no problem, Thats a great idea about the magnets i never thought about that even tho i have loads laying around :) yes it would take a bit longer to paint as the layers would need to completely dry before placing the stencils on, i think that's the method i would use using magnets to hold them in place :) Not sure when i'll be doing it tho.

Hi Anthony, Thank you very much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, feedback and question I really appreciate it :) I don't buy any of mine i just use the lids off old food tubs that are round or things that i find around the house that i have no use for :) Hope this helps :) Also it's really nice to hear that you are a fan of my videos it means a lot Anthony :)

@JonBarberArt
@JonBarberArt 2 года назад
Hi Ben, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, and the question, I really appreciate it :) Yes there is a way of doing it upside down on ceiling, what i would do first is paint all the back ground and then add the planets last using reverse stencils cut from card, hope this helps :)

@tonymart7613

You can spray paint on stretched canvas if it's well primed, I'd say 3 or 4 coats of gesso /primer

Hi Joshua, Thank you for taking the time to leave this comment feedback and question i really appreciate it :) Yes you can use a canvas, When i spray paint on a canvas i just take it out of the packaging and spray straight on too it, but you could prep them first if you wanted, I've tried before and there was no difference to be honest hope this helps :)

Hi mate, been watching your vids for the past 2hours, and i must say, my local artshop basket is full... thank you man you really got me motivated. If you could answer me this, i would be more than appreciated. Is fotographic paper ok? it has a glossy side to it... never the less, thank you for your time in making all your videos man. Cheers
@JonBarberArt
@JonBarberArt 3 года назад
Hi Pedro, Thank you so much for watching, and for taking the time to leave these kind words and this comment, feedback, and the question I really appreciate it :) yes Photo paper is ok to use as it won't soak up the paint like normal paper. I used it when i first started spray paint art, the only problem with it that it cost a bit to buy and the bigger you go the more and more it cost.

Hi Asa, Sorry for the late response, Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to leave this comment, the support, and the question I really appreciate it :) Yes low pressure cans will work just fine, i use low pressure cans in most of my painting , but for the beginners tutorials i choose to use the high pressure ones , I like using them both tho :) Yes you can do it on wood just remember to prep the wood first, i have one on my channel where i painted on wood and my newest video is also painted on wood both turn out really well :)
