Hi ,when the 2nd layer has no food scraps visible and you then empty it to use in the garden do you then swap it with the top layer that contains worms and food scaps? Thereby starting the whole cycle again!

You should! They are a great investment for turning food waste into fertiliser for your garden - nothing goes to waste! Our WormsRUs models are tried and tested by us, so we know they are a good product if you are thinking of getting into worm farming.

Hi, do you need to replace the soil you take out when the worms are finished making it? Also, could you leave your tap permanently on with a bucket underneath so there's no water in the bottom for them to drown in? Thanks heaps for the video

When you remove the soil or worm castings for use in the garden you don't need to replace it, just make sure the worms have got bedding - toilet rolls, scrunched up card or the bottom half of egg cartons are great. The worm farms we sell have an upturned pot in the bottom layer so if they fall into the liquid they can get back out and up into the next layer. You don't need to leave the tap on, just turn it on when you want to use the tea as a fertiliser.

Hi, i love your video just quick questions! do you add water to the worm tea or do you use it as it is? Also how long and how much do you have to feed the worms to get worm castings? Thank you!

I'm glad you like the video. I add water to the worm tea - about 1 portion worm tea to 4 portions of water. My water source is rain water so it is ok to add but if you are on town water that has chlorine added you need to let it sit overnight before adding to the worm tea or you will kill off all the good bacteria. I feed my worm farm an icecream container full every few days. It can take about 6 motnhs to build a base of worm castings but once the worms are settled into their new home they will start eating more and producing more castings. I hope that helps.

Hi, Do we need to add water?
@urbanbountynz6735
@urbanbountynz6735 3 года назад
HI there - thanks for asking! No, you don't usually need to add extra water to a worm farm - the moisture from your food scraps should be enough. Adding anything more than a misty spray can drown you worms.

No such thing as worms tea. It's called leachate and good worm farms should not be in a good worm farm
