I make my EUC's easier to push by adding a little weight to the back and then pushing them backwards. The weight pulls them along, and if I my wheel ever gets free and decides to roll, the back weight pulls it to a stop - unless it's rolling backwards, of course. Anyways, I love your T4 review, I'm pretty close to picking up that T4 Pro+ as a backup / trail wheel to my daily driver - a Sherman Max with street tire.
Ohh thats a good trick! T4 as a trail wheel ist good! Just keep in mind the range, topspeed and suspension. I think by now the suspension is a little t better on the Patton. But I know, it's more expensive and heavier
Thanks for the honest review my guy. I’m in contemplating buying one and am new to this. I mainly ride motorcycles but this looks like something fun to ride as another hobby.
Thank you! Just keep in mind, it's great because of it's weight but it definitely missed some speed and range. That's why I'll go for the Lynx. But for pure offroad purposes it's a fun wheel.
Yeah, no rain, no problems 😄 but I'm getting the SKF bearings now and now I won't need to worry anymore when it might rain a little bit. But some people say just regreasing the bearings would be enough to avoid problems
I still love my T4 after 3000k. I had the same issue with the bearings after a few minutes on a wet road. Now I have marine grease in there and a bearing cover and I have had no issues. You have my respect for carrying that thing up several flights of stairs!
You installed a bearing cover from somewhere? Or just bought new bearings that had them included? Are they not already greased from the factory? I'd hope the T4 Pro would be better in this regard.
@@leetNightshade I got some 3d printed bearing covers. There IS grease from the factory but the tiniest bit of water in there will wreck the bearings with the factory grease. I have the original T4 from pre-order. I certainly hope the T4 Pro has improved things.
I love my t4 i got 1200 miles on it now and its still holding up strong. I do want to upgrade next summer but at the price point of the t4 i feel it was my best choice at the time for my skill lvl. I dont need a new wheel yet but i am startting to get it to beep at me
It's really great for off-roading and I love that wheel. But after I rode the Patton in Abu Dhabi for over 100 km (2 rides) I really fell in love with the Patton 🙈😂 because it has the great topspeed
40 km when the bearings are dead I printed protections for the bearings I changed to SKF I only do you off road I have 2500km I just changed my suspension bushings I love this wheel v2 weighs 30kg!! superb wheel, but need to tinker
Dude, that was a krazy review 😃!!. U got my thumbs up. Damn that thing is nuts wide. Highlights: shopping cart ! Melted suitcase bearings ! Staircase ! Btw, it wasnt the rain. No way, no how, that bearing would fail that quick if it got wet. If u got it stuck in liquified mud, up to the trolley handle, "maybe". I think it just coincidence.
Aww I still need to make a video about that but I got so much to do with university right now🙈 No you can not ride in the city. Sometimes when you know exactly where the points are to escape, so sometimes I do it but it’s super risky. I mostly ride on the country side and in the forest. I hope you can ride more peacefully. Currently I’m in Taiwan and no one cares. I love it! Ahh and the cops most likely stop you in Germany and that you can be lucky and nothing happens or you have bad luck and they take your wheel for a while and you pay several hundred euros of fine.
C'mon dude, you gonna blame Honda (or whichever your fav auto brand) for not being a submarine? Ya we are know these are Made in China with costs being #1 in mind & chinesium bearings are extremely well documented for what they can & cannot do. If you did your homework, an outer film of bearing grease on the outer bearing covers would have solved it. & we dont have to remove any panels as its easily accessible. But ya, the T4 isnt perfect, far from it infact. But then name me a perfect product, any product. I use my T4 as a dedicated dirt wheel & have been very pleased. Only maintenance I've done so far is wd 40 on squeaky linkages & suspension screws adjustment. Not perfect but I'm enjoying its lightness, nimbleness, tossability, precision & good brakes. IMO ofcos
i wonder how much the V5 differences ? Euc´s seems to be suffering from the same issues like projectors. There is really nothing available but compromises. The patton once again seems more interestin choise.
Hi, nice review. I have T4 aswel, it is my first wheel, and bearings broke after first rain. Can't wait for the new bearings now :(. Anyway, I wanted to ask you what power pads can you recommend? Also, where do I buy the handles for the front and the rear of the wheel? Thanks. EDIT: NVM, you have talked about that on the second part of the video.
If you want to get cheaper options I met quite a lot of people in Malaysia and Taiwan where they have 'fake' grizzla pads and I also know someone in Germany who prints good pads for around 80-100 euros (similar to the kinetic). I think Grizzla is quite expensive and when you look in thingivers and on Instagram pictures you sometimes find nice and cheaper ideas. Grizzla however is great and doesn't require any work, just money 😄
Rain doesn't seem to damage the bearing. It's possible that you just need to add new waterproof grease and it should work. In most cases, the old grease is washed away by water, which is why it makes a noise. I might be wrong.
This guy could probably break water. Sounds like a daughter with a car. You should get a manual unicycle. They work great for girls and guys like this person. LOL .... Maybe a Electric Unicycle isn't your best choice of vehicles for where you live? I really like my T4. Good luck !
Could be just bad luck. I live in Bogotá, Colombia. Here rains almost once a week and I use my wheel every day. No issues with the bearings. Because of your video I will pack some corrosion x grease in the bearings just for a extra peace of mind.
My friend told me later he just put better grease on his Master V1 and he has no problems. So you should be fine with not replacing them. But when you don't have any problems, even better 👍🏼
Have you ever had problems with the police in Germany ? How is the situation around there ? Are the police friendly if you’re acting carefully and responsibly on a euc ? Thanks for the content ! 🎩
I personally was lucky the one time I got stopped, however I do know some people who weren't lucky and payed several hundred euros and their wheel got confiscates for weeks. I know one guy where they took it for 8 months or so, but this is rare. I don't think you'd make it that far in the city before you get stoped by the police.
I have Tesla T3. Almost 5000 km on the clock. This wheel is super awesome. I spent almost no money on it, just one tire change. I crashed it at 60km/h and almost no amage at all. I ride in the rain very often and bearings are fine. I love old Begode wheels like Nikola, Tesla, MCM5... These wheels are finished products you can cary upstairs and use every day. Too bad Begode do discontinued these wheels and making new very different ones. But anyway I really like EX30 and also Extreme :).
You managed to ride up to 60 kmh with the T3?😂 And yeah with more technic there are more parts that can break and you need more maintenance 🥲 but I'll check out the EX30 and the extreme on Friday in Abu Dhabi, son I'm quite excited!
Nice review, Piet! I've done 1250km on the T4 now. My bearings are fine, but I haven't been riding in rain. I agree with all your points. If I was buying a 16" wheel today I would personally choose the Veteran Patton for offroad, or the Commander Mini for road. These are both faster, longer range and better build quality than the T4, but they are heavier, too. Luckily I don't have 500 stairs to climb every day! I'm looking forward to seeing what's on the market in a year or so when I get my next wheel... and my guess for where you are going - Singapore?
Thank you Pete!❤️ My friend told me now he regreased the bearings with better grease and now his Master V1 seems to be good in the rain. I'm getting the SKF now and then it should be fine as well. MyEwheel and also Eevees said, they would be the best. Noon bro I'm a student. Singapore would be too expensive for me 😂 I'll be on an island
I have Grizzla Pads Flow. They are produced in Poland and he ships it world wide. But the the US it might cost 30 USD for shipping, I'm not sure. You can check out Clarcpads which are made in the US.
That's a good question. I think there is already the T4 V5 or something... I rode the Patton yesterday and must say its pretty amazing. It's a little heavier, so it's not as good for trails but for commuting and the quality of the wheel is definitely better.
Was the issue of wet weather riding ever addressed in later batches? Currently they are on I believe it's batch 4. Also I hear they swapped to QS motors from ZX motors.
The motor change was after V1. So V2 and later batches have the same motor. About the bearings, maybe it was bad luck, maybe it's V2 or maybe it's the T4. Some people said replacing the grease would be enough and then you wouldn't have issues. After my experience riding more wheels I'd say the T4 is an amazing Offroad wheel but if you also ride on the street I'd personally go for a Patton or Commandee Mini. The topspeed and battery size are my issue.
Excellent review but I'm confused why you recommend the wheel if it breaks the moment it rains. Begode produces wheels that are always almost great but also always fatally flawed in some way. I ride a Nikola Plus which is a brilliant wheel in all ways (speed, range, ruggedness, handle) except the driving lights are useless and there's always a tiny chance it might explode into flames. People are paying good money for these wheels and they really want reliability and quality at these prices. I'm not saying the other manufacturers are way ahead but I'd rather they concentrate on getting quality and reliability correct before adding suspension and terminator looks. Out of curiosity, what made you think a 30Kg wheel was a good choice for taking up 5 flights of stairs each time? Also curious how you're a student with not a single book on your book shelves ;)
Haha thank you Mike! I completely do understand the choice of your Nikola. It just works and there is literally no maintenance which is awesome. However in Germany I can't ride a lot of streets because I wouldn't make it far before getting stopped by the police. So I do ride a lot of Offroad trails which I actually find quite fun and challenging. You're absolutely right that begode should not sell a wheel which can't handle water at all (at least the bearings). I later opened the motherboard cover and it was super clean. But you can get great bearings for 60€ or, like my friend just told me...he regreased his bearings on the Master V1 because he said the grease they use is shit. He doesn't have any problems. The reason why I still recommend it is, that it's a quite 'light' (at least in comparison to the competitors like Patton, Extreme, Commander mini...) Which I do enjoy while going up the stairs and also while jumping. I think begode is a company where you will never be satisfied out of the box, at least until now. About that shelf 😄 I just built it for my stepdad for his overload of CDs, that's why it was empty. Thank you for your comment!❤️
