Crazy editing on this. Yikes. Takes out all the pauses in the sound, so I guess makes it quicker to listen to but the visual looks super choppy and weird.
Watching/listening to this video was a terrible experience and I couldn't complete it. My brain kept picking up an absurd amount of what appeared to be micro-cuts or micro-edits. These edits seemed near constant and could have been in the hundreds by the time it drove me absolutely bonkers. This was an absolutely terrible experience that left me feeling seriously nauseous. Perhaps this is done to speed up the viewing/listening process? I also found that the speed in which the information was coming made it nearly impossible to absorb any real information. Essentially, I would simply be listening in order to waste time and not to learn anything. My personal recommendation: have podcasts with a normal life speed to them with limited editing. Listeners are MORE than capable of speeding up their listening experience if they so choose; where as the rest of us are 100% incapable or removing such terrible, nauseating editing.

We recently let go of our normal editor (who has been with us since we began producing video content for RU-vid), and we are currently testing a variety of editors for the replacement role. The variation that you see on videos such as Michael Kitces, Meir Statman, and several recent ask Paula videos reflects paid tests that we are giving to our editorial candidates, who are applying for the position. Based on your feedback, it’s clear that the person who edited this should not be offered a full-time role. Our hiring method is to give each editor one episode, (paid as a freelancer), and see how well they perform. As a result, there is going to be variation until we fill the role.
